Gino Caccamo, local hydro chairman, welcomed | the audience and introduced Sister St. Timothy, _ principal of Ho ly Angels Separate school, and district convener of the event, M, Anderson . principal of St. Martin's separate school Terrace Bay, D. Briscoe, principal of Terrace Bay public school, Mrs. H. Swain, principal of Red Rack public school, and A. Speziale, vice=principal of Holy Angels school, and also members of Schreiber and Terrace Bay separate school boards. The judges were D. Beno, Schreiber, P.J. Stew- art, Terrace Bay, W. Kirchmeir, Red Rock, with Mrs. L.R. Tremblay as timer. Beth Ross, of Holy Angels, Schreiber was the winner, speaking on LSD. Mr. Kirchmeir congratulated the contestants saying their choice of topics had been interesting and well- developed, voices were clear with good renage of expression, and their language excellent. Mr. Caccamo thanked the sponsors, judges, teachers, and the parents whose encouragement was an im- portant factor. Following the program J.P. Tessier showed colored slides, taken by him, of local and other scenes.- . Mrs. Aurel Major convened the lunch and was assisted in serving by Mesdames, Arthur Moorey | Bill Kirkpatrick, Paul Gauthier. Miss Jane Syvitski was pianist for the occasion. : Mrs. Forbes Macadam is visiting her son Gordon and family in Winnipeg. Lester McCuaig flew to Edmonton on Saturday to visit his brother Lionel who is in the University Hospital there. Mrs. Jack Friesen and daughter Carol Ann are in Unity, Sask. visiting Mrs. Friesen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Horsman. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Huminicki attended the wedding of Richard James Oldale and Sandra Marlene Lundberg in Fort William on Feb. ae Bill Furlonger is confined to home after suffering a broken bone in his ankle ina fall. Mr. E. Ouelette is in McKellar Hospital for surgery. At their February meeting the Restoration group of St. John's Anglican Church made plans for a Penny Sale to be held in the town hall on April Il at 7.45.
