CRAWFORD AWARD BRANDON (CP)--Recreation director Buck Matiowsky of the city of Brandon has been named Western Manitoba's Swortsman of the Year and winner of the H. L. Crawford wwemorial award. Matiowsky, 32, assumed his position a year ago and, since then, has organized an extensive recreation program in the city. Runners-up were Keith Elder of Wawanesa, a pistol com- petitor in the last Olympics; Donna Hean of Brandon, de- fending Women's Five-Pin Bowling champion; Murray Zuk of Brandon, president of the Manitoba Baseball Association, and Stu Thompson of Brandon. Garnett Husser was given a unanimous vote of confidence at the Terrace Bay Community Church Annual Congregational Meeting, held Sun- day evening, January 19th.
