Furlonger said in her welfare report that clothing had been supplied to two na- tients in the Fort William Sana- torium and Christmas gifts were sent. Her report also included the number of x-rays and costs from April 1 to Dec. 31, 1968, from clinics and additional costs. Mrs. Russell Macadam re- 'quested new pamphlets, book- lets and bookmarks be ordered and distributed in the schools and library. The secretary will advise rep- resentatives that new films are available for showing schools or public meetings. UCW BAKE SALE PLANNED FOR JANUARY 31ST A Pot Luck supper preceeded the January meet- ANUARY 23, 1969 continue as in 1968, with the same yearly alloca- tion. A Carnival Bake Sale will be held on January"31 from 3 - 5 in Chapples with the proceeds to be donated to the Schreiber High School Student Council. In charge of the bake sale will be B. Macadam, N. Fummerton, J. Gillard and M. Spillane. Members are asked to attend a ckgeta en meeting to be held on January 26th, beginning with a dinner at 5.30 p.m. The meeting was then followed by the showing of slides of the Republic of China; a social hour and an exchange of gifts. OFFICERS OF RUBY REBEKAH HOLD TEA The Officers of Ruby Rebekah Lodge held a tea on January 18th in the Town Hall. Receiving the guests were Noble Grand Mrs. N. Fummerton and Vice Grand Mrs. C. Morris. Mrs. V. Rigelsford,. general convenor and Mrs. H. Wallace was the cashier. Tea was poured by Mesdames A. Bryson, A. Sully, W. Clemens and M. Slater. Servitors were J. Williamson, J. Stitt, N. Thrower and J. Fisher. Mrs. J. McCanna looked after and candy and bake table. Assisting in the kitchen were Mesdames Rigelsford Winters and G. Hamilton. A bulletin was received from the Prairie Christian Training Centre listing events planned for January and February. and Mrs. Vaillancourt, son of Mrs Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lidkea and Linda attended the funeral of the late Bob Wood, their son- in-law, January 13 in Port Ar- thur. Corinne Vaillancourt and the late Joseph Vaillancourt, of Britt, Ontario whose engagement has been announced by her parents, will be married at 3 p.m. on February 15th in Holy Angels-Church in Schreiber . Drive carefully Mrs. Bill Forrest of North Bay was a recent visitor with Mrs. Ethel Smitheman and Mrs. D-L. Wilson. Bob Spadoni was welcomed home after a four month stay in hospital. Mrs. Lillian Christie is visit- ing her sister in San Diego, Calif.
