VOL 11 NO, 33 COUNCIL QUOTES Reeve W.E. Cavanaugh presided at the August 13t council meeting held in Council Chambers with coun cillors-R. Bray and R. Sinotte, and also Clerk-Treas- urer W. Hanley attending. Minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted Clerk Hanley reported that no reply had been receiv ed from the C.B.C. regarding the length of time the local Television Sattellite is on the air and that Greyhound Bus Lines had not replied to his inquiry re parcel deliveries to Terrace Bay residents. Correspondence indicated that no appointment to the Board of Governors of the District Home for the Aged have been made. The Reeve reported that he had contacted electri- cal superintendent D. Boudreau with a view to es~ tablishing some type of alarm system on the Hydro Department Truck. This alarm should indicate to the driver that the ladder was not secure or still elevated and might help to eliminate this type of accident. He also reported that work on the High School pro- ject had been delayed, so progress is slow. The Assessment Branch of the Dept. of Municipal Affairs wrote regarding assessment basis, and the Town of Kenora sent an invitation to Reeve and Council to send representatives to the North Western Ontario Municipal Association Meeting, October 3-4 and Sth... Ontario Hydro wrote regarding refrigerator equip- ment available for Home Economics Classes in the New High: School addition. Mr. R. Kenney wrote thanking the people of Terr- ace Bay for the generous help extended to a Rossport family whose home was destroyed by fire recently. The Improvement District of Red Rock asked for a copy of Terrace Bay Brief on the Hardy R t oe (Cont'd Be page 5) Pde een TERRACE BAY NEWS SERVING THE DISTRICT AUGUST 22, 1968 COMMENDABLE SAFETY RUN The Ontario Pulp and Paper Makers Safety Associa- tion announced that the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company's woodlands operations at LongLac, Ontario, have completed a run of one hundred days clear of disabling injuries. During this period, the staff of approximately four hundred produced eighty- two thousand, three hundred and ten cords of wood and the planing mill sawed almost five million board feet of lumber. In working almost three hundred thou: sand man-hours, on a variety of occupations - includ- ing pulpwood cutting, skidding, hauling, river driv- ing, slasher operations, sawmilling, and maintenance work = all employees handled their assignments with- out suffering injury involving loss of time from their regular duties. Kimberly-Clark was the winner of the Annual Accident Prevention Competition conducted by the Ontario Pulp & Paper Makers Safety Association a- mong the woods operations of member firms in 1965, 1966 and 1967. WATERFOWL BAG AND POSSESSION. LIMITS Bag and possession limits for waterfowl remain essen- tially unchanged in Ontario, according to the 1968 _ Migratory Birds Regulations, released today by the Canadian Wildlife Service, Dept. of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. When hunting or transporting migratory game birds you must be in possession of a valid Canada migratory 'game bird hunting permit in addition to any required provincial hunting permit. The permits are sold for $2 at post offices. Season limits for the Northern dis- trict are - Ducks, Rails, Coots, Callinules and Wil- son's Snips - Sept. 14 to Dec. 14; Geese - Sept. 14 to Dec. 14th. .
