JULY 18, 1968 SUMMER CEREMONY FOR LYNNE MOORES A double ring ceremony held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 conducted by Father McNeil, assisted by John Cosgrove of Sch- reiber, united in marriage Rosemary lynne, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Moores of Terrace Bay, and Norman John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Boon of Schreiber. Shasta Daisies and Gladiolus were used to decorate the Church. Brian Hubelit played the organ and Joanne Brown was soloist. Best Man was Paddy Duggan and ushers were Randy Moores (brother of the bride) and Jimmy and Gus Boon (brother: of the groom). The lovely bride wore a traditional gown of heavy satin backed crepe designed with ea scalloped yoke and sleeves, and a full train of chantilly lace. Her shoulder length scallop- ed tulle veil fell from a headdress of white flowers and seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of white Glads, highlighted with bunches of green grepes. The four bridal attendants, Matron of Honour Mrs. Marlene Kosticki (groom's sister) and Brides maids, the Misses Holly Berndtsson, Debbie Boyd and the Mrs. Carol Roy all wore lime green A-line floor length gowns of satin backed crepe with white accessories and carried baskets of Shaste Daisies and green grapes. Their headdresses were of lily of the valley and green leaves. The flower girls, Patty Regis and Cindy Kosticki, wore white sheer net over lime green in a design similer to that of the senior attendants. At a reception held in the Moose Hall, the bride and groom groom's mothers were in the receiving line, the former wear- ~4ng a pink wool suit which was bound with matching satin and matching accessories. The latter chose a green Acrilan suit and beige accessories, yellow flower hat and brown toned shoes. A toast to the bride was proposed by Rev. T. Carnett Husser and the wedding cake was cut by the bride's grand- mother, Mrs. Helen Adams of Tide Head, N.B. Leaving on:a honeymoon trip to Calgary, the bride white suit, yellow hat and brown purse and shoes. Niiranen wore an off \ nt a TERRACE BAY NEWS Terrace Bay Swim Meets - Last Sunday afternoon, | PAGE 8 RECREATION BRIEFS - by David Courtemanche Adult Swimming - Swimming for adults only is held from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays inclusive. Start- ing on Monday, July 22nd at 6 p.m. in the pool, the Adult Survival Swimming Programme will start. This programme exposes all: persons wishing to take the course, to the basic survival techniques and water accident prevention. There is no charge for this pro- gramme if you are a Swim Pool member. the] -- Terrace Bay swim team was host to a swim meet with the Marathon team. There was a lot of interest and enthusiasm created as the Terrace Bay team was vic- torious, scoring 252 points against Marathon's 174. This Saturday, July 20th, the Terrace Bay team will be leaving from the Recreation Centre at approximat- ely 11.15 a.m. to travel to Marathon for a return. visit and swim meet. We are attempting to get a bus for this trip; however, at NEWS time this has not bee confirmed. If we are unable to get the services of, our local bus, then we will be soliciting for automo- biles to carry our swim team to Marathon. On Saturday, August 3rd, the swim team will travel] " to Red Rock for the annual North Shore Swim Meet. | Head Swimming Coach, Marcia Hamilton, has been working quite hard with the team and promises that Red Rock will have keen competition from our team. To our knowledge, Red Rock has never been beaten, and we are hoping they will meet their Waterloo this year. The local Terrace Bay Swim' Meat will be held on Saturday, August 10th. If you are not on the swim team yet, you can still join by contacting Marcia Hamilton through the Recreatian Office - 3542.
