After the_dinner, a gift was presented to Mrs. Steele. Other invited guests from Schreiber and Marathon were present. A question and answer period took place with Mrs. Steele supplying the answers. Mrs. Coupal thanked everyone who helped with the dinner and reminded members of the next meet- ing to take place at the Legion Hall on October 29. Later, the ladies were joined by their husbands for a social evening with music supplied by Sax Lund- - berg'and George Churney . LEGION AUXILIARY MARK 5TH BIRTHDAY The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Ladies Auxiliary, held their 5th Birthday Party with a dinner held in the Curling Lounge Saturday evening. The dinner was convened by Mrs. E. Boyd. Mrs. D. Coupal welcomed the ladies and introduc- ed head table guests including Mrs. Ada Steele, District Representative, Fort William; Mrs. Dwyer, President Marathon Branch; Mrs. Winters, President, Schreiber Branch; Mrs. LeClair 2nd. Vice-President, Mrs. E.Boyd, Secretary, Mrs. D.Ballentine, Treas- urer, Mrs. Mercier and Mrs. Bajkiewicz, Past Presidents of the local branch. , Toast to the Queen was given by Mrs. Bajkiewicz and Grace by Mrs. D. Bougie. Assisting with serving were Linda Ballentine, Mary Claire Coupal , Susan McInnes and Valerie Boyd . On the afternoon of October 19, Mrs. Pam Jones opened her home to welcome new-comers to Terrace Bay at a Get-To-Know-Your-Neighbour Tea. There were sixteen ladies present. Those honored were Mesdames Shirley Richards, Leslie Rowsome, Kaarina Fink, Joan Greenwood, Ky-Phy Chow and Julie Sannon. Mrs. C. Gould assisted in ing tea.
