TERRACE BAY NEWS Vol. 10 No. 4] CANADA SAVINGS BONDS - 1967 The 1967 Series Canada Savings Bonds will go on sale at the mill October [8th. All regular Kimberly- Clark employees will be contacted and offered the opportunity to purchase bonds through the payroll savings plan. The '67 Series follows much the same pattern as the Centennial Series that was so popular last year - i.e. an average yield of 5.48% if held to maturity plus the compound interest feature which means buy- ers can double their money in 13 years. As usual, paid-up bonds may be cashed at any time, at any bank, at full -face value plus interest. Bonds that are only partially paid for may be cashed at anytime with the purchaser recovering all of the money invest- ed, There is no risk involved. Last year nearly 60% of Kimberly-Clark employees purchased a record total of $147,000 in bonds - they recognize bonds as a good investment and the payroll savings plan as a convenient way to save. 1966 bonds will be paid up with the October 3lst deduction and will be available from the Paymaster early in November. So, now is the time to start thinking about your 1967 purchase - 29 cents a day will buy a $100. Bond in 12 months. Plan to buy some! Next week's News will carry a list of canvassers. The canvasser in your department will have complete information - be sure to see him. BUY THE '67 SERIES - DOUBLE YOUR MONEY VOTE AS YOU LIKE ... BUT VOTE! - OCTOBER 17 - Serving the District October 12, 1967 KIMBERLY-CLARK WEEKLY SAFETY SLOGAN Winners of last week's safety slogan were Bill McKie, Len Pope, Mike Churney, Bob Fontaine and Henry Hermes. , This is "Fire Prevention Week". Destructive fire is. like a branding iron, leaving an indelible imprint'on the lives of each person it touches. Long after flames have been extinguished, embers have cooled and smoke has drifted away, the deep hurts of fire remain. These hurts - physical, emotional, financial, can be agonizing and perm- anent. Only :when everyone practices fire prevention at all times, in all places, are ugly and unwanted fires avoided and the hurts of fire significantly reduced. ~ Remember this week's safety slogan: BE SAFE - BE FIRESIGHTED - PREVENT FIRES ADVANCE POLLS FOR ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF THUNDER BAY Advance polls are for the taking of votes of all persons who expect to be absent from their polling sub-division and unable to vote therein on polling day. There can be no vouching (swearing in) at advanced polls. Dates of advance polls are October 12, 13, 14, 1967. ( continued on Page 10) -
