EDITOR TOURS WITH CHOIR lt was 8 p.m. Saturday evening and for the first time in about two days | felt awake and alert. We left Terrace Bay hoping to get some. things done, have a good rest and be at the airport at7 a.m. Friday morning well rested alas it didn't work that way - we got to the airport at 7 a.m. alright - tired after a restless night thinking a quick check in then coffee and breakfast would help. Again we were out of luck - the coffee shop did not open till 9 a.m. and we were first of our party to arrive so we just had to sit ...There was a bit of confusion of course with 110 people meeting for the first stage of a trans~atlantic trip. The size of this country of ours was again impressed on us -- it takes six hours to fly from the Lakehead to St. John, New Brunswick. It was another experience getting from St. John airport to the Hotel. They had two - 40 passenger school buses to take 110 people and all their luggage the 10 mile from airport to hotel. We made no attempt to go out that night - we did take a short walk, found a nice place to have dinner, went back and to sleep. = By the way, we have a system developed - Harold keeps his watch Terrace Bay time and | keep changing mine. Right now we are at St. John High School for the final concert of the National Finals of the Centenary Festivals of Music. Fort William Male Choir are singing - to their surprise but not to those of us who know their worth - they won First Prize in Choir Class. ' They were fairly far down on the program which started with O Canada sung in French by Les Roitelets Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, a mixed choir. We had been interested eavesdroppers during dinner when some of the losers in the Festival were seated -- near us and quite bitter in their disagreement with decisions of the judges.
