The size of this country of ours was again impressed on us -- it takes six hours to fly from the Lakehead to St. John, New Brunswick. It was another experience getting from St. John airport to the Hotel. They had two - 40 passenger school buses to take 110 people and all their luggage the 10 mile from airport to hotel. We made no attempt to go out that night - we did take a short walk, found a nice place to have dinner, went back and to sleep. = By the way, we have a system developed - Harold keeps his watch Terrace Bay time and | keep changing mine. Right now we are at St. John High School for the final concert of the National Finals of the Centenary Festivals of Music. Fort William Male Choir are singing - to their surprise but not to those of us who know their worth - they won First Prize in Choir Class. ' They were fairly far down on the program which started with O Canada sung in French by Les Roitelets Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, a mixed choir. We had been interested eavesdroppers during dinner when some of the losers in the Festival were seated -- near us and quite bitter in their disagreement with decisions of the judges.
