January 12. 1967 GEORGE MONTAGUE PRISKE FUNERAL HELD The funeral of the late George Montague (Monty) Priske, whose death occurred in hospital on December 26, was conducted on December 28 by Rev. R.J.S.Inshaw in St. John's Anglican Church in Schreiber. Hymns chosen were Onward Christian Soldiers and Tell Me The Old, Old Story. Miss Lois Inshaw of Ottawa was organist. Honorary pall bearers were H.P.Bourguignon, Tom Bolan, and Walter Wilkes. : Active pall bearers were John St.Jean, Austin Cosgrove, Godfrey Birch, Cyril Sparkes, Wayne Wilson all of Schreiber and Charles Koski of Terrace Bay. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Priske is survived by his wife, the former Alexandra Nicol, two sons, Paul of Chicago, Nelson of Montreal, one daughter Ruth Mrs .Ross Mitchell of Terrace Bay. There are three brothers Fred of Port Arthur, Ted of Mexico, Harry of Victoria, B.C. and four sisters, Alice Mrs. J. Ansell, Ivy Mrs. Sam McNicol, of Vancouver, Jessie Mrs.G.Post of Duncan , B.C., and Nellie Mrs. R.E.Gray of Schreiber 'and five grandchildren. Mr. Priske was born in England and spent his childhood in Schreiber leaving in 1929, eventually 'becoming mining engineer of Sigma Mines in Bourlamaque, Que. where he retired in 1965. He led a charmed life, surviving a fall off Nipigon bridge, a plane crash in the North, and a fall down a mine shaft. Attending the service from out of town were his wife from Montreal, Mr.& Mrs.Paul Priske, Chicago, Mr.&Mrs.Fred Priske Port Arthur, Rev.and Mrs. Douglas Sly of Nipigon, Mr.&Mrs. Ross Mitchell, Melvin Nicol, Lyle Nicol, Terrace Bay. Mr. Priske was predeceased by his father, a locomotive engineer who was killed in a railway accident in 1938, his mother in 1952, and brothers Bob, RCN who went down with the St.Croix, Kenneth RCAF pilot who was killed during the war and Jack. exchange of books Jan. 19 be- fore which time all books from this collection must be returned. Inshaw were honored by the community at a farewell party held in St. John's Anglican Church hall. On behalf of the evening group of the church, Mrs. Ted Wilson presented an oil painting .of a local scene. Mrs. A. C. Rigelsford presented a chair from the woman's auxiliary; Mrs. Reg Bailey, a blanket from the Busy Bees; and George Birch a miniature Christmas tree, with money from friends. Mrs. W. G.
