Drop TERRACE BAY NEWS Showpiece of the historical fashion pageant is a copy of the dress worn by Queen Victoria on her wedding day, shown here. Because of the close ties between Canada and England in 1840, every step of her-preparation for the wedding was followed breathlessly by Canadian women. FASHION PAGEANT HERE DECEMBER 2 Ontario's famous historical fashion pageant, Portraits from the Past, will be presented in Terrace Bay on December 2, 1966. The show will be under the sponsorship of Terrace Bay Centennial Committee by Ladies Auxiliary to the Terrace Bay Community Church. The presentation, in the form of a fashion show, consists of 39 women,s costumes dating from the visits of early explorers to the early 1900's. Replicas of the dresses worn by such famous women as Madame Champlain, Mrs.John Graves Simcoe and Laura Secord are included in the show. Members of Terrace Bay women's organizations will model the costumes. The show is touring the province under the auspices of the Ontario Centennial Planning Branch. continued on Page SRE
