TERRACE BAY NEWS -- Important announcement for electricians, air conditioning and refrigeration workers The Apprenticeship and Tradesmen's Qualification Act, 1964 requires journeymen in the Electrical, and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration trades to obtain Certificates of Qualification by October 31st, 1966. The deadline has now been extended for six months to April 30th, 1967. This extension does not affect the normal renewal periods for these trades which are: Electrical trade--January-February ; Refrigeration & Air Conditioning--May-June. Tradesmen who have not already applied for their initial Certificates of Qualification should do so as soon as possible. Final highlight of the show was the presentation of some of the most luxur- ious furs. Wistful sighs of the ladies in the audience were clearly audible as the models made their way around the room. The evening ended with refreshments served by members of the Catholic Women's League. TERRACE BAY HIGH WINS DISTRICT TRACK MEET By a narrow margin that involved several recounts, Terrace Bay High School were declared the winners of the 1966 North Shore Secondary Schools Amateur Athletic Assoc .Track Meet. Over one hundred ath- letes took part in events that commenced at Ila.m. and did not end until al- most 4p.m. Participating were the high schools of Manitouwadge, Marathon, Terrace Bay, Schreiber and Geraldton, each school having supporters as well as competitors; in all there were at least three hundred students around the High School buildings. Principal W .Rowsome expressed his appreciation of the excellent behaviour maintained throughout the da by both his own and visiting students. The visitors were well supplied with refreshments, courtesy of the students of Terrace Bay. Individual awards were also made in both Junior and Senior Divisions. Pat Robertson of Manitouwadge and Bob Broadhurst of Terrace Bay won the junior awards and Gail Dakin, Terrace Bay and Dominic Pellegrino of Schreib er won the Senior.
