August 18, 1966 SCHREIBER NEWS Mr.and Mrs.Donald Brown and family flew to Vancouver for their vacation. Mr.and Mrs.Doug Murray and family of Winnipeg, Mr.and Mrs.Leo Aber of Sault Ste.Marie and Mr. and Mrs.Walter Gunderson of Tampa, Fla., are visiting George Duncan. Mr.and Mrs .Bill Duncan of McCreary, Man., joined the family party over the weekend. Mrs.K .Murray of Fort William is visiting her daughter, Mrs .Clifford Dimmery and family . Mr .and Mrs.J.D.Bromley and family are spending their vacation in Toronto and other eastern points. Mr .and Mrs .Bill Stefurak will visit in London and then bring their son Doug, who has spent the summer in Army Cadet training there, home. Mr.and Mrs.Alvin Slater have returned after a lengthy holiday with relations in the British Isles. Mrs.John Tronsen and Mrs.Jack Hepburn of Fort William visited Mr.and Mrs.Lester McCuaig this past week. Mrs.A.E.Rigelsford flew to Batters, N.B. after learning of the death of her brother-in-law, E. Maillett, in a mine accident. Mr.and Mrs.Albert Morris will hold an open re- ception on August 20th from 3 - 5, in honor of Mr. and Mrs .Michael MacDonald. Mrs .Bill Niemi, who leaves shortly for a new home in Sudbury where her husband, a train des- patcher, has been transferred by the C.P.R., was honored by friends who met in Mrs.Stefurak's home. Mrs.Niemi was presented with a cut glass bowl and baking utensils in Teflon as farewell gifts. Assisting the hostess during the evening were Mes- dames Bob Simpson, Russell Campbell, Bob Turner and Bill Collinson. Mrs.Helen Nesbitt Garmendia of New York City is visiting her brothers David and Charlie Nesbitt and other relatives here. Albert Verdoni is in Port Arthur General Hospital and Hugh Stewart and Leo Potvin are in Terrace Bay Hospital . Visiting with Mr.and Mrs.Geo.Cataford are Mr. and Mrs .Allan Cataford, Judy, Bryan and Anne, and Mrs.Gerirude Lafontaine and son Robert, all of Toronto. Mr.and Mrs .Bill Kirkpatrick have bought the former J.E.Sheehan home on Main Street. _Mrs .Ron McBride. Mr.and Mrs .Ralph Morrill are visiting Dr .Stanley | Morrill.in Vancouver and Mr.and Mrs .Earl Holmes in Powell River, B.C. Mrs.A.Smith and Mrs.W.Powiss and three daugh- | ters, all of St.Joseph's Island, are visiting Mr.and | Mrs .D'Arcy McGuire. Mr.and Mrs.Herve Fournier and family of Ottawa are the guests of Mrs.J.B.Fournier, visiting other relations also. Mr.and Mrs.Don Winters and family, Mr .and Mrs.C .Peters and Mr.and Mrs.Z .Dellow and fam- ily, all of Fort William, are holidaying in the Milton Winters' camp at Terrace Beach. Fred Harness hosted a fishing party last week in his Slate Island camp, his guests being Clare Scott of Burlington, Pat Guina, Milton Winters and Art Parent. Christina, Frank, Rosemarie and Louise Macchi of Port Arthur, have spent the past week with their grandparents, Mr.and Mrs .Frank Figliomeni . Mr.and Mrs.Leo Tookenay of Fort William spent the summer at Walker Lake. Mrs .Mark Doig of Chapleau is at her camp at the Lake. Mr.and Mrs .Clare Scott (Lorna Holland) and son Danny, of Burlington, are the guests of Mrs . Bill Holland and Mr.and Mrs.Pat Guina. Dolores Holland, Mrs.R.E.Alexander and two sons, of Baton Rouge, La. and Emmet Holland and his family will join the re-union. Mrs.Austin Cosgrove is visiting her son Dean and his family in Dryden. Mrs .Leonard O'Brien and daughter will drive east with Paddy O'Brien to visit in Pembroke and vicinity and enroute home in Sudbury with Mr .and Mrs.D'Arcy MacDonald. Mrs.Leo Bryar of Marathon visited Mrs .Len O'Brien and Mrs.Charlie Pearson last week. Jack Finboggasin of Toronto, formerly of the High School staff, is the guest of Mr.and Mrs .Ray Cote and visiting other friends here.
