= THE VOWS EXCHANGED IN HOLY ANGELS CHURCH The Wedding Vows of Sharon Ann Webb, daughter of Mr.and Mrs.William T.Webb of Schreiber and Al. Joseph Matte, son of Mr.and Mrs .Edward Matte of Ottawa were solemnized by Rev. J.M.Cano in Holy Angels' Roman Catholic Church on June 25. Miss Anna Fummerton was the organist and Giovan- ni Cebrario the soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in a full length sheath of silk ligoda with rounded neckline and lily pointed sleeves. Sprays of deep re-embroidered lace appliques enhanced the bodice and banded the hemline. A detachable cathedral train, caught by a bow, fell from the waist. Her bouffant four-tiered shoulder length veil of silk illusion featured scalloped edges and was caught to an organza and seed pearl floral headpiece. She carried a crescent of American Beauty roses. The Bride's attendants were her sisters, Mrs.William Campbell, matron of honor, Carol Webb, junior bridesmaid and Miss Lorraine Fournier, her cousin, bridesmaid. They wore identically styled floor length gowns of nylon sheer organza over matching taffeta, in pale pink. In the Empire mode the gowns were accented by French lace trains with scalloped edges and were fastened by small bows to the rounded back necklines. Their headpieces were floral designs in the shade of their gowns, they wore white shoes and: gloves and carried nosegays of white mums sprayed with pink. The Groom's nephew, Jean Pierre Matte, was ring bearer ,groomsmen were his brother Joseph and the Bride's brother Bryan and ush ers were her brother William and cousin Roger . Following th e ceremony a wedding breakfast was given in the Guild Hall and during an afternoon re- ception reception in the Town Hall the guests were received by the Bride's Mother who chose a pale pink two piece silk jersey knit and the Groom's Mother who wore a dress and coat ensemble in blue organza with matching hat. The former had a white feathered carnation corsage and the latter one of pink feathered carnations. The wedding dinner was given in the home of the Bride's parents. Mr.and Mrs.Matte will spend their wedding trip in the United States and southern On- tario, the bride travelling in a three piece silk knit suit in pale yellow with straw hat and accessories in white. Her corsage was white gladiolus. They will make their home at 91 Hyland Drive, Sudbury. Prior to their marriage the Bride was feted at a shower tea arranged in the Guild Hall and the Groom at a stag evening in the home of Lou Karns. MOTHER-DAUGHTER BANQUET Highlight of the recent mother and daughter ban- quet of the Catholic Girls' Club was the attendance of two mothers, each with three daughters, among the seventy-five at the dinner. They are pictured below. The Grace was said by Father J.M.Cano and Linda Connelly, club president, was M.C. Cathy Stokes sang a number accompanying herself on the Guitar. Anna Fummerton read the report of the club's activities during the year. Dinner was served by members of the Altar Guild in St.Jerome's Church, Rossport. CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE MEETING Mrs.Norah McGuire presided for the June meet- ing of the Catholic Women's League with twenty- five present. Education Convenor Mrs.Dora Mc- Grath reported plans were made to serve breakfast to Grade 8 graduates of Holy Angels school. Soc- ial Action Convenor Mrs.Gloria Mullins stated breakfast was served to twenty-six children who took their first Communion and their parents. Two boxes of clothing have been sent to Missions for dis- tribution. Publicity Chairman Mrs .Rita McGrath volunteered to start a scrapbook of League activities.
