Despite heavy fog a good turnout took part. More of these will be held in future. A Wednesday night Twilight will be held every week during the summer . This Twilight will replace the weekly tournament held in the past. Starting next week every Tuesday for four weeks free golf lessons will be available for juniors during the morning. All juniors 16 ye ars and under, whether members or not, are welcome. Later tournaments will be held for adults and juniors - partners to be drawn from a hat. For more information phone the clubhouse . ZENMAC MINE OFFICIALLY OPENED Last Saturday saw the official opening of mining operations at Zenmac Mine. The opening ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual shareholders meeting which took place in Terrace Bay prior to the 3 p.m. ceremony which was held at Selim Sid- ing, east of Rossport. P.S Broadhurst, B.Sc., P.Eng., introduced the platform guests. Mr.Broadhurst is general manager of the Zenith Mining operation. The first speaker was R.A.Halet, Ph.D., P.E., the presid ent and managing director of the company who introduced Bob Andras, Provincial M.P., who in turn intro- duced the Hon.George Wardrope, Minister of Mines The latter officially opened mining operations. Guests then inspected the concentrator site before returning to Terrace Bay where refreshments and a delicious hot and cold buffet supper were served in the Curling Lounge. A special railroad car brought guests from eastern Ontario and many others were present from district points. Pictures taken at the mine will be shown next week THE NEWS RETIREMENT PARTY. Citizens are hereby requested to advance clocks and/or time pieces one hour at 2 o'clock a.m. on Friday, July Ist and retard them one hour at 2 o'clock a.m., on September 5th. The Council thanks the citizens for the interest shown in the poll and respectfully request the whole- hearted support of all citizens in making a success of this time saving change for public b enefit.
