Trophy winners, l.tor., W.Mallais, E.Coss, Terrace Bay Branch #223 of the Royal Canadian Legion held a social and pre sentation last Friday evening in the Curling Lounge. Zone 82 Comman- der L.A.Hiller made the awards to winners of the cribbage and shuffleboard tournaments. W.Mallais received the men's Shuffleboard trophy and A.Regis was runner-up. Mrs.Mary Coss won the Mixed Shuffleboard with C .Marcella as her partner. Mrs. Dody Bougie and A.Regis were runners-up. Win- ners of the men's cribbage was C .Koski with E.Coss as runner-up. A social followed the presentations with music provided by McColeman and Rigelsford of Schreiber . ==> CHILDREN'S RACES - 10.00 A.M. set-for KINSMEN ame d fun-filled Te ton oe = - PREZES* POR"BIK ES; Page Il PLAYGROUND LEADERS ATTEND COURSE HERE Thirty young leaders gathered in Terrace Bay to benefit from instruction and discussion on the diffi- cult and exacting task of being a good playground leader. Registration started Thursday evening, followed by a short introduction by Buck Matiowsky, co-ordina- tor of the course. Carlo Catterello, Recreation Director at Red Rock, led a plenary on what a child looks for in a playground leader, after which the visitors dispersed to their billets. At 9 a.m. the following morning the young people began a crowded schedule of practice and instruc- tion in arts & crafts, active and quiet games, music, drama and storytelling. This program continued all day.
