An invitation to a testimonial dinner in honour of Mrs. H. N.Bickmore, retiring Area Commissioner, was read, All Guiders and Local Association members are cordially invited to attend the dinner to be held in the Up-Town Motor Hotel in Fort William on June 18. For further in- formation call Mrs.Hazel Lang or Mrs.Betty Turner. Cookie Day Convenor Mrs.Glenna MacDonald reported that sales had been high and that the townspeople were greatly to be congrat- ulated on their continued support. Badge Secretary Mrs.J.Doyle reported that many tests have been passed and several ladies volunteered to assist Mrs.Doyle in her work. After the close of the business meeting a social was held in honour of Mrs.Iris Finch, the District Commissioner, Mrs.Finch was guest speaker at a Mother and Daughter Brownie Banquet held in Schreiber and had continued to Terrace Bay to meet socially with the Guiders and Local Association mem- bers, After a short talk Mrs.Finch discus- sed Guiding problems with those present. POT-LOCK LUNCH HELD BY LADIES AUXILIARY A pot-luck lunch was held at the final meeting of the afternoon group of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Commnity Church on Monday, May 16th, A request has been received for clean rags of any type material, pick-up can be arranged by calling Mrs.Harris at 825-3241. Also the rehabilitation centre at the Lakehead still has a need for pieces of fur. Pickup day will be Tuesday, May 31st. Several ladies volunteered to help with the Inter-Faith Dinner and the meeting closed with plans for the September meeting. LEGION AUXILIARY PLANS FATHER'S DAY TEA At an executive meeting of the Canadian Legion Auxiliary last week Bursaries were dis- cussed and plans made to hold a Father's Day Tea on June 10th, The president, Mrs.J.Mercier, reported on the Al-Anon meeting she attended. A new Bingo starts next week. Winners in the last Bingo were Mrs.Vienneau, Mrs.Coupal, Mrs.Lew Edmunds and Mrs.Mykietyn and Mrs. Joe Campbell. Don't Forget the general meeting and bring a new member with you. Samuel Harris celebrated his thirteenth birthday by entertaining four of his friends to dinner and the show afterwards on May 17th. Roger and Adelaide Beaulieu have returned from Kapuskasing where they visited with Roger's parents, Mrand Mrs.f, Beaulieu.
