Photo by |.McCuaig FIRST KINDERGARTEN SHOW PRESENTED An appreciative audience attended the Kinder- garten Spring Concert in St.Andrew's United Church hall . There are thirty children enrolled and the teach- ers are Mrs.Fraser Muldrew, Mrs.George Lengyel (pianist), Mrs.Bill Tripp and Mrs.Donald Brown. Classes are held three days a week. While the dainty frocks of the little girls and manly suits of the boys certainly added to the pro- gram, the really outstanding quality was that every child could sing and possessed natural rhythm, a factor not common to such young children. The program consisted of action songs as follows:- Welcome Song, Jesus Loves, There are Three Little Magic Words, The Little Turtle, Robin in The Rain, Here is a Bunny, The Little White Duck (with fin- ger puppetry), T en Little Indians, Jack In the Box, If you're. Happy and You Know It, Swimming Pool and a rhythm band number. The numbers were all done with much verve and after the program their younger brothers and sisters joined a playtime period with them. Many parents went on from the concert to the public school to register their children for Septem- ber first grade classes. CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE MOVING AHEAD Schreiber Centennial commit- tee held its fourth meeting May 15 in the high school library. Neil Ross was appointed sports chairman. E. EK. Forgues, high schocel principal stated the school has already planned to use the fel- lowing events as part of the cel- ebration program: their open house and a public speaking contest during January, a school variety night and winter carni- val in February, indoor traek meet in March and gymnastic meet in April. Mrs. T. Whitton stated the Women's Institute will add their New Year Baby Cup presenta- tion on he regular meeting date in February. The Catholic Wo- men's League has agreed to add their annual picnic and field dav and the Kinsmef their New Year's ball. It was decided 'to contact the various merchants and other 'businessmen in town suggesting they form a committee to co- ordinate events with the central centennial group. D. E. Smith, manager of the Bank of Montreal agreed to head the finance committee. Dates for the Schreiber reunion were set as July 1-4. A formal letter will be sent to all the clergy asking them to plan religious events to take place as part of the centennial program. Mrs. Gordon MePar- land agreed to take the position of secretary. The next meeting will be held June 3 at 8 p:'m. Mrs. Inez Mc- Cuaig chaired the meeting, ANNUAL MEETING HELD BY T.B.ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the East Thunder Bay Tuber- culosis Association was held on May |5 in the Legion Club room with E.J.O'Brien, Executive Director of the Ontario Tuberculosis Association, of Toronto, Mrs. Marjorie Leadbeater and:Mrs.Adelaide Olson, White River, Mrs.Dodie Bougie and Mrs.Sadie Benko Terrace Bay, Mrs.Marion O'Neal, Mrs.Norma Car- mody and Miss Mary Gentile of Nipigon attending. ine next meeting will k continued
