GOSPEL MISSION Sunday School at 2 P.M. every Sunday TOWN TOPICS EASTERN STAR CHAPTER PLANS BAKE SALE Silver Birch Chapter 264, Order of the Eastern Star, held its regular meeting in the Temple Hall on Monday, May 9th with Worthy Matron Flora Bryson and Associate Patron Charles Sitch presiding. Routine business was conducted and reports given. Final arrangements were made for a Bake Sale to be held in Dresswell Cleaners in Schreiber on Saturday, May 28th from 2 p.m. to 4p.m. Arrangements were also concluded for the dedication of a new Altar at the June meeting. A social hour followed with delicious refreshments served by Mesdames Alice Stellwell, Margaret Quil- lan, Jean Whalen and Mrs.E .Irvine of Marathon. MEMBERSHIP TEA HELD BY CATHOLIC WOMEN The Terrace Bay Catholic Women's League held ifs annual membership tea in St.Martin's Hall on Sunday, May 15th, preceded by Recitation of the Rosary in the Church. President Mrs.H.Boudreau welcomed all memb ers and reports were giveri. The report from the Dioce- san Conference announced that Mrs.Margaret Helmink has been re-elected Diocesan President and Mrs.Mary Da shkewytch the corresponding secretary. Congratulations were offered by members and execu- tive. It was further announced that the Convention for 1967 will take place in Terrace Bay. A beautiful lunch of dainty sandwiches and fancy cakes was served by Mrs.Faye Vienneau and her committee. Residents of Terrace Bay who were here in 1959 will welcome the return of Steve and Florence Kole- sar (nee Churney) with their daughter Rosemary. Steve Kolesar, after ten years with the Hudson's Bay Company (he was here with the Bay in '59) has taken over management of Anford's to which he brings experience gained in stores in Manitouwadge, Sarnia and Atikokan. A sincere welcome is extended to them and every success is hoped for them in their new business. GOLF CLUB ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE At a general meeting held last Wednesday by the Terrace Bay Golf Club, the following executive was elected:- President, Thor Olsen; Vice-president, Al Pattison; Treasurer, Dan Rafalant; Secretary, Bill Hanley. Trustees for the new season are, Jack Phillips, Jack Thomas, Dave Desrosiers, Bill Duncan Cole Campbell and past president, Joe Adamo. NIPIGON WINS CARLING TROPHY Nipigon became North Shore Champs Sunday by winning the Carling Trophy. Teams are maile up of series winners in each town. Continued page 5)
