There was a lengthy discussion on the annual - scholarship awarded by the Auxiliary to highschool students. This has always been available for grade thirteen students but it was felt that, since some students leave from grade twelve for further school- ing in other centres, the award should be open to them also. It was therefore agreed that this year the scholarship, upon application first from students, will be open to both grades; also, that it can be awarded to children other than those whose parents belong to the Legion. A committee comprised of Mesdames Joan Costall, Bevertey Himes and Inez McCuaig will meet with E.E.Forgues, Principal of the school, to discuss the award. Plans were made for the nineteenth anniversary party on May 21st to which other branches are in- vited. An invitation was received from Nipigon Auxiliary to attend their twentieth anniversary celebration. Mesdames Earline Johnson, Ruth Hiller, Lil MacDonald, Joan Costall, Betty Luke, W.Ibey and Lovella McCouan, volunteered to assist in the Tuberculosis survey. Mrs .Betty Luke was received into membership by president Jeanette Gunter. Payment of yearly dues for Mrs.Annie LeBlanc and Mrs. Polly Bottomley was unanimously approved. A rummage sale was decided for late in May. Word was received from Provincial Council th at bars may now be secured to add to past president's pins after completing other terms of office. The letter also stated that transfer of Inter-provincial memberships will be brought up for decision at the Dominion convention. A committee was appointed to provide the cold plate supper to be served after the dart tournament on April 16. Mrs.Llouella McCouan volunteered to assist Mr. .Vi.Rigelsford with the Sick and Visiting committee. May lunch hostesses will be Mesdames Kay Gel- lert , Margaret Handel, Dorothy Hewson and Ruth Hiller.
