Vol.9, No.14 AREA KRAFT MILLS CONTINUE EFFLUENT STUDIES Representatives of all Northwestern Ontario Kraft mills met-in Terrace Bay on March 29th to continue their studies on water conservation and stream ef- fluent improvement. This was the fifteenth such meeting of a committee established in 1960. It represents a concentrated effort on the part of area Kraft mills to voluntarily impose high standards on its own members. Current chairman of the Committee is Domtar's Mill Manager at Red Rock, J.L.Halter. Secretary is F.J.Tasker, also of Red Rock. The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for October in Dryden. April 7, 1966 BANTAM EASTER WEEK TOURNAMENT Winnipeg West Kildonan Bantams will be arriving in' Terrace Bay on Tuesday, April 12th and a full slate of activities has been drawn up. The first hockey game will be played between Winnipeg and the Terrace Bay Bantams on Tuesday, April |2th at 8:00 p.m. Other activities will include curling, bowling, basketball and volleyball. Some changes were made in the tournament due to the heavy num- ber of entries received from other communities wishing to participate. The Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association decided not to accept any outside entries except Winnipeg for this sports week. GORDIE HOWE HERE IN JULY The Recreation office has been advised that Gordie Howe, N.H.L. hockey star, will be visiting Terrace Bay on Friday, July 8th. He will spend four hours signing autographs and meeting all our young hockey players. Watch for further details in the News. Most of us know how to say nothing. Few of us know when.
