They were also given the chance to operate several modern machines and see the functions of secretarial work. Mrs.Weppler, when asked if automation was making the demand for secretaries obsolete, replied that there was definitely a future for trained girls in this field. Others The Municipal Office was humming Friday with the addi- tion of Beth Hopper and Liz Dobush who were given a general run-down by Mr. W.Hanley. The News office also played an active part with Jill Crandle- mire and Bonnie Beddard spending the morning learning only a few of the many jobs of an editor and lay-out work. Lynda Lawrence enjoyed her work experience at Terrace Bay Enterprises. All in all the day was a highly successful one. The pro- gramme gave the students a realistic look at business and in- dustries in our area and impressed upon their minds the neces- sity for choosing the right vocation. Many thanks must be given to those who through their co-operation made this pro- gramme possible and to Mr.W.LeMay and Mr.W.W.Rowsome for their part in planning and organizing the first of perhaps many ON THE JOB TRAINING DAYS.
