CANADA SAVINGS BONDS - 1965 Once again Canada Savings Bonds will be available to Kimberly-Clark employees through the payroll savings plan. The canvass will commence on October 18th and all regular employees will be contacted. 1964 Bonds will be paid up with the October 31st deduction and Bonds will be available from the Pay- master early in November. Notices to this effect will be posted on bulletin boards. Employees who have purchased Bonds in the past do not have to be sold on the value of this convenient method of saving. Most will already have decided how many of the 1965 series they will purchase. Those who have not developed the ' Bond-Habit' should consider the advantages of doing so. It isa relatively, painless way to save; paid-up Bonds can be cashed at any time at full face value plus interest, or if you must cash them in before they are paid for you get all of your money back - you can't lose. CONFERENCE HELD HERE On October 7, 1965, a meeting of representa- tives of the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company Ltd., Ontario Provincial Police, The Hydro-Elec- tric Power Commission of Ontario, and the Canadian Pacific was held at the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel . The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and de- fine the role of area agencies and organizations in the event of an emergency. The meeting was ob- jective and cooperative, and future activities of the above and other organizations, could be a bene- fit to the entire area. NEW RESTRICTIONS ON MOTORCYCLES Two new restrictions on the operation of motor- cycles were recently announced by Transport Minis- ter Irwin Haskett. A person holding only a tempo- rary instruction permit may no longer carry a passen- ger on the pillion seat of a motorcycle and a person with a temporary permit is now prohibited from driving a rented motorcycle. Mr .Haskett said the new regulations stem from an intensive and continuing study of accidents involv- ing motorcycles. The number of motorcycles registered in Ontario has more than doubled in the past eight months and the number of motorcycles involved in accidents nto has gone up in proportion to the great number of motorcycles that are on the road.
