M.Cano for David Speziale, infant son of Mr .and Mrs . Joseph Speziale, whose death occurred sudden- ly on September 22. The pallbearers were all cousins - Joe Speziale, | Teddy Speziale, Tony Commisso and Frankie Costa. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. The baby, who was born on September 20, is sur- vived by his parents, one sister, Rosanne, and three brothers, his grandparents, Mr.and Mrs.Cosimo Spe=- ziale and Mr.Dominic Diano, and many other rela- tives in town. REBEKAHS HONOR ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT Dinner in the Mayfair dining room preceded the special meeting held by Ruby Rebekah Lodge honor- ing the visit of Mrs.Audrey Whitehead, president of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario. Mrs. Jessie McCanna, N.G., and Mrs.Mary Husband, V.G., presided for the meeting. Mrs .Bern Whent escorted and formally presented Mrs .Whitehead and Mrs.Alice Sparkes escorted and presented Mrs .Dora Weaver, district deputy presi- dent. The two gte sts entered the lodge room through a guard of honor holding gladiolus sprays to form an arch, the guard being Mesdames Winnie Clemens, Mildred Smith, Nettie Thrower, Anna Laine, Mary Legault and Mildred Welsh. The Noble Grand presented gifts and corsages to ' the two guests and a welcome in song was given by Mrs.Gladys Madigan. Mrs.Whitehead, before her official address, thanked the members for their warm hospitality and displayed the Bible presented at her election to office in Foronto which she is carrying throughout her tour for officers signatures in the man Lodges of Ontario. MRS .AND MRS .SCHAAN HONOURED Mr.and Mrs.Lloyd Schaan, who have gone to Port Arthur where Mr.Schaan has been transferred by the Bank of Montreal, were honored at a farewell party given by the Lutheran congregation in the home of Mr.and Mrs.R.Nygaard. On behalf of the others, Walter Wainikka spoke with warm appreciation of the interest taken by the Schaan's in the activities of church - Mrs.Schaan as organist and Sunday School teacher, and Mr. Schaan as treasurer - and presented a farewell gift. At the Lion Club meeting Mr.Schaan was also pre- sented with a gift by Arni O'Keefe who has replaced Mr .Schaan who was to have been president this year.
