GOLF NEWSThe Aquasaban Golf Club's first club championship tournament held on Labour Day was a huge success. Despite the cold forty-six participants were ready at tee-off time -- 8.00 A.M. Mrs. Stokaluk did a fine job keeping a good hot cup of coffee available throughout the day. The results of the tournament were as follows: Low Gross, Club Champion and winner of the Kimberly Clark Trophy was Dave Whalen with an 83 score. Dave could have easily bettered this score had his lead been threatened Dave's experience in tournament golf plus his fine steady play were too much for a few who could have threatened his leadership. Tied for second place were Bob Adamg and Vic Timpano each with 87 score. Bob Adam§ the only one to par the course during the year and a favourite to win had a rather rough day. Vic Timpano tieing for second and winner of a play-off did a fine job. Vic is undoubtedly the most dedicated golfer in the world and his playing keeps improving steadily.
