Page 4 ~ THE NEW STAMP HONOURS SIR WINSTON CHURCH- HILL Details of a Canadian postage stamp to be issued August 12 to honour Sir Winston Churchill were released today by the Hon Rene Tremblay, Postmas- ter General . The stamp is the first Canadian stamp printed by the duotone offset process, a method of printing particularly suited to the repro- duction of photographs. It features the famous "roaring lion" portrait of Sir Winston Churchill by Yousuf Karsh, internationally renowned Canadian photographer. Complementary design is the work of Philip Weiss, Canadian artist and Director of Indus- try's National Design Branch. NEWS July 29, 1965 TAKE A "SAVE-A-LIFE" COURSE NOW The time for instruction is now. When a sudden accident occurs it is two hours too late. The St.John Ambulance is giving a free two hour course on arti- ficial respiration during the summer months. This course is call "Save-A-Life" and basically follows this outline: 5 minutes-Respiration-basic mechanics of breathing: 10 minutes-Asphyxia-describing what happens when breathing stops and relating the various causes of asphyxia: 5 minutes-Artificial Respiration- what must be done immediately to restart breathing. 100 minutes-instruction and application of the Mouth to-Mouth and Sylvester methods of artificial respira- tion. Two hours is a small price to pay for the content- ment of knowing you are prepared.
