This amount will be paid to five town employees, each, including the two policemen. A.E.Nelson was present to discuss the town bring- ing an Ontario Land Surveyor to survey the west side of Main Street. Some say this was originally a mining claim and there are many opinions as to where property lines actually lie. Council informed Mr.Nelson that a petition with at least sixty names in favour must be presented before action can be taken. Reeve Harness expressed the opinion that Council should take a second look at the recent by-law governing trailers. He also remarked that no action had been taken by police regarding scrap yards in town although they had been informed ten days after the by-law was published. The condition behind the YMCA was considered a police problem rather than the concern of the board of health. Mr.Guina inquired if business tax arrears for the YMCA had been paid and it. was decided to bring this to the attention of Mr.B. Sauriol, also the unpaid restaurant license. Mr .Guina reported a $3,000 payment is due to Gauthier Brothers on their contract with the town. Correspondence from the Department of Transport regarding town Stop signs was read. The C.P.R. informed Council th at the gravel pit on Kingsway would be filled as soon as possible.
