FIRST AID EXAMINATION RESULTS FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MR.AND MRS.J.O.MILKS Mrs. Helen Jartus of the St.John Ambulance As- socation has received word that all nine candidates in the recent first aid class have been successful in their examinations. Any groups or individuals desiring public classes in the Fall should contact Mrs. Jartus during July or August in order that advance schedules and supplies can be drawn up by the field representative. Schreiber lost two of its long-time residents when Mr. J.O.Milks died on July:2nd and his wife suc- cumbed a week later. The funeral of the late J.O.Milks, retired loco- motive engineer, whose death occurred in Fort Wil- liam hospital on July 2nd was conducted in St. Andrew's United Church, Schreiber, on July 6th by Rev.D.F.Muldrew. Miss Diane Rummery was the organist and hymns sung were 'Safe in The Arms Of Jesus' and 'Rock of Ages.' The honorary pall bearers were R.Wheatley, J. Connelly, J.Kennedy and J.Maclsaac, all of Fort William, D.L.Wilson, Manuel McCouan, George Duncan, Nelson Smith and W.W.Wilkes of Schrei- ber. The active pall bearers were Keith and Borden Ross, W.E.D'Arcy, Walter Ballard, J.M.McGrath and Dennis Neylon. The funeral of the late Mrs. J.O.Milks, nee Mary Louise Dow, whose death occurred in her home on July 8th was conducted in St.John's Anglican Church, of which she was a member, on Saturday, July 10th by Rev. R.J.S.Inshaw. Mrs.Inshaw was the organist and the hymns chosen were 'Abide With Me, and Jesus Lover of My Soul." The active pall bearers were Borden and Keith Ross Bill Paradis, J.M.McGrath, Bill D'Arcy and Emmet Holland. Honorary pall bearers were Manuel McCouan, George Duncan, Nelson Smith, Don Wilson, Walter Ballard, Walter Wilkes and Dennis Neylon. Survivors are, a son Leslie of 274 W.Christina Street, two daughters, Annie (Mrs.D.E.Graham of 1854 McGregor Avenue, Fort William and Gwenneth (Mrs .R.J.Gauthiér) of Red Rock, a brother, Reuben Dowe of Ottawa and eleven grandchildren. BURNED-OUT FAMILY ASSISTED The CP and 1 Committee of the Oddfellow and Rebekah Lodges, with the help of other organizations who collected, were able to sub stantially help the Cress Family of Port Coldwell who were burned out recently. Mrs.Cress, whose husband died in March this year, was. living in the family house with one child at the time of the fire. Both escaped injury but the blaze took the house and all contents. A transport and driver delivered the many items collected. .
