- June 10, 1965 THE Schreiber Artificial Ice: Fund STATEMENT For 2% Years of Operation The Committee Of The Artificial Ice Fund are very gratified with the results they have achieved while in operation. On behalf of the committee I would like to extend a sincere vote of thanks to the following, : The Schreiber Town Council The Order Of The Moose, Terrace Bay The Schreiber House League Hockey Team 1963/4 The Schreiber Juvenile Hockey Club 1963/4 To the few young Schreiber Ladies who without the help of instructors worked so hard to put on a figure skating show and turned their profits over to the fund. To the ladies who gave so freely of their time & labour to raise the wonderful sum of money for us. To all who worked so hard at the home and town hall bingos, raffles and hockey pools. Also a tip of the hat and a big thank you to our faithful attendants at our hall bingos, not forgetting our friends from Terrace Bay and Rossport. The Following is a statement of the success of our various fund raising efforts: House Canvassing Special Donations 3 Seasons Hockey Pools Home Bingos. Hall Bingos Raffles Bottle Drives Canteen Workers $2020.00 $1275.75 $2780.75 $1865.10 $2654.80 $ 635.75 $ 456.85 $ 800.00 TOTAL $12,488.88 Canteen Funds To be turned in 600.00 OUR GRAND TOTAL $13,088.88 This is a very gratifying sum when you consider the amount of expense to purchase equipment, for the Canteen and also our bingo cards and machine. REBEKAH LODGE MEETS Mrs.Nellie Stitt, PNG Sincerity Lodge, Chapleau was welcomed as a visitor at the May meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge. Mrs.Jessie McCanna, N.G. and Mrs.Mary Husband, V.G., presided. First ' nominations were carried out. Mrs .Christine Morris reported for the CPT Commit- tee and Mrs.Helen Wallace gave the Treasurer's re- port. An invitation was received from Agate Lodge, Ft. William, to attend a June meeting. A donation was made to the Bible Society. Plans were made to serve luncheon to the Rebekah and IOOF sponsored bus load of young people enroute to attend the United Nations. The committee in charge of arrangements will be Mesd.F .Fisher, V. Winters, J.Macadam, A.Niemi, B.Whent, A.Bryson and J.McCanna. HK NEWS MOOSE LADIES MEET The Women of the Moose Chapter 1752, met on June 2nd with Senior Regent Ann Didura presiding. Four new members, Adelaide Daley, Alice Levine, Lorraine Huard and Marjory Hamman were wélcomed into the Defending Circle. Final plans were made for the ladies annual din- ner to be held in the Hotel Schreiber, June 16. The executive Commit- tee was in charge of the Chapter Night program with a Penny Auction and delicious buffet lunch ser- ved. ART CLUB NEWS The exhibit by "Coutts Hallmark" will be left up for the Thursday session. A weekend art course under the direction of P. Moscovac will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June |2 and |3 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. STORK CLUB Four baby boys born at Terrace. Bay Hospital were welcomed by Mr.& Mrs. M.Scraba and Mr.& Mrs. F .Ferland of Schreiber-- June 4 and June 6--and Mr .and Mrs.A.Drexler and Mr.& Mrs.Jack Cac- camo of Terrace Bay-- June 4 and June 6th.
