Mrs.Don Wilson is in Port Arthur General Hospi- tal. Jack Bryson and Walter Stokes are on Slate Island where they will spend the summer--Jack as Light- keeper and Walter as his assistant. Mr.and Mrs.Ernie Beaucage of Port Arthur and their family spent a recent weekend with Mrs .Beau- cage's parents, Mr.and Mrs.Walter Guillett. Over the holiday Mrs.Della Moore had the follow- members of her family visiting her--Lloyd Moore of Manitouwadge, Mrs.Stan Yanin and daughter Della of Marathon and Mr.and Mrs.Charles Moore and son Gary of Kirkland Lake. Mrs. Archie Smith of St.Joseph's Island is visiting her daughter, Mrs.D'Arcy McGuire and family. Paul Huminicki is in St.Joseph's Hospita! ,Port Arthur. Mrs.Ted Wilson in is Port Arthur General Hospital . Mrs .Bruce Lidkea is in Terrace Bay Hospital for two weeks. Mr.and Mrs.Albert Smith are visiting their daugh- ter, Camilla (Mrs.Leo Poirier) and Dr .Poirier in Sudbury. Austin Cosgrove has gone to Calgary to visit his daughter Mary (Mrs.Harold Sylven) and her family. Miss Mary Cosgrove of St.Catherines will be here this week visiting the Cosgrove family and the Ver- doni family. Mr.and Mrs.J.C «Campbell are visiting in Detroit with Mr.and Mrs.Henry Prebushewski . REBEKAH LODGE MEETS Ruby Rebekah Lodge met on April 28th with Mrs. Jessie McCanna, Noble Grand and Mrs.Hermine Bryant, acting as Vice Grandin the absence of Mrs. Mary Husband, presiding. Minutes and accounts were read by Mrs.Beth Macadam and the sick and visiting account given by the Noble Grand, noting rosebowls and cards sent to sick members. Mrs.Macadam also reported on the most successful Spring Tea. Mrs.Helen Wal- lace gave the Treasurer's report. An invitation was received from Agate Lodge to attend their Spring Tea. The new Canadian flag will be dedicated at the next meeting on May 12 when initiation of two candidates will take place under the direction of Mrs.Anna Laine. Some people are bent with toil; others become crooked trying to avoid it. NEWS SILVER WEDDING CELEBRATED Mr.and Mrs.David Rigelsford entertained at din- ner on April 27th in honor of the former's parents who were marking their twenty-fifth wedding anni- versary. David and Ruth presented a silver tea service to Mr.and Mrs .Rigetsford. In the evening a group of friends met in a surprise party for the happy couple, presenting individual silver pieces as gifts. At the party were Mr.and Mrs.Vic.Thorpe, sis- ter and brother-in-law, Mr.and Mrs.Glen Pearen, Mr .and Mrs.N.Linkewich of Terrace Bay, Mr.and Mrs. Jack Winters, Mr.and Mrs.Bruce Lidkea and Mr cand Mrs .Archie McColeman. DEDICATION SERVICE AT ST ANDREW'S CHURCH At the morning service in St.Andrew's United Church last Sunday a dedication to Mission service was held when mid-week groups presented gifts of money to Mrs.Harriet McBride, treasurer of the M & M Fund. Presentations were made by Debbie Wilkinson and Judy Davis for the Messengers = Monica Frommann and Debbie Lidkea for the Explor- ers - Terry Gander and Dean Fischer for the Tyros - Sandra Clemens and Mary-Ellen Gerow for the C.G.1.T. and Boyd Drake for the HI-C group. FIRST AID CLASSES START MAY 11TH The regular meeting of the Schreiber combined Brigade was held on Monday evening, May 3rd in the Town Hall with Dorothy Rummery presiding and Helen Dooley as secretary. A letter was acknowledged from Mr. V.Everitt, Superintendent of the C.P.R., thanking the Brigade for their recent services. It is hoped that as soon as fill is completed and work parties set up, the St.John Building can be moved to its new location. Re-examinations are scheduled to be run off during this week and next and members are urged to com- plete their examinations on time. A review session was held following the meeting. Any group desiring the 'Save-A-Life' short program in artificial respiration only is asked to contact Mrs. Rummery at I4l. This year special badges are issued which can be worn on jackets or bathing suits, sig- nifying ability to perform artificial respiration. The public senior first aid class will commence next Tuesday, May IIth in the Town Hall at 7.30 p.m. SHARP. Registration and payment of fees will precede the first class. There will be four. classes-- two per week - of three hours each. Anyone wish- ing a refresher is also welcome. Shirley Jartus arrived home Tuesday from Ryerson Polytechnic Institute in Toronto where she has completed her first year Arts Course. Shirley will spend the summer with her par ents, Mr.and Mrs. H.Jartus. Memberships in the Horticultural Society may be purchased at Mary's Flower Shop.
