Dignitaries gath ered to address those present and were welcomed by Mr.John Ferrier, Manager of Kimb erly-Clark's Terrace Bay Mill. As Chief Magistrate, Reeve W.Adamo welcomed a large audience to the 'Canadian' Flag raising ceremony. They had, he stated, chosen this occa- sion to coincide with the awarding of citizenship papers to new Canadian citizens of Terrace Bay, and similarly, the new flag symbolized a new and distinct Canadian nation. He expressed the hope that under this new flag they could all become better citizens-- to work for a better and united Canada--that the nation will prosper and that under God, the hard work and ambitions of the early pioneers of the country will be fulfilled by us as we go on to build a greater Canada. Crockford counted two in the ninth and tied it up in the tenth. The extra end was finalized with Olsen drawing to Crockford's shot rock in the blue. Congratulating the winning rinks, President Rune Ostling first called upon Hal Lawson of Marathon for a special presentation. Hal has attended eleven consecutive annual Spiels in Terrace Bay and it was their pleasure to make him an honorary member of the local Club, inviting him to the annual windup May 9th when a formal presenta- tion will be made. Over $800 was spent on prizes, not $300 as was announced. Sets of golf clubs were presented to each member of the Olsen rink for their A event win. With Thor were Ned West, Rod Thompson and George Martin. Runner up Len Crockford, also of Terrace Bay, and his rink of Don Whitley, Ed Belliveau and Henry Hermes received golf carts. L.Leifer of Marathon with G.Nutbrown, B.Weat- ainen and B.Brewer, in third place were awarded Mitchell 304 reels. Tent warmers went to fourth place winners Hal Lawson and his rink of Joe Kolotylo, E.Currie and Claude Steeves. B Event winners were recipients of Electric Jig Saws and this was the Terrace Bay rink of Scotty Hamilton, Ken Johnson, Don Tees and Reg Fawcett.
