LEGION LADIES HOLD SOCIAL A social evening was held by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Sunday evening in the Legion Hall fer members and friends. Cards and a Penny Suction were enjoyed with all proceeds to go to their Welfare Fund. A door prize was won by Mrs. Linnea Steen and Mrs. Minnie Woodruff won the raffle. Lunch was served by Convener _|Mrs.Dorothea Ballén¢ine assisted during the evening by Mesdames Clara Lawrence, Minnie Woodruff, Dot Coupal, Dodie Bougie, Joyce Mercier and Alice Yates. COMMUNITY CHURCH AUXILIARY MEETS An Easter Devotional, taken by Mrs. Gertrude Soughton, opened the April meeting Monday evening of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Terrace Bay Community Church. Assisting Mrs. Soughton were Mrs. Helen Brooks on the Scriptures and Mrs. May Dorland with a read- ing. Mrs. Clara Gould was invited to accom pany the opening hynm "The Old Rugged Cross", Welcomed to the meeting by the President, Mrs. Lois Hopper, mewbers heard the reading ot minutes and correspondence by Mrs. June Schritt and the financial statement by Mrs. Betty Turner. Conveners reporting were: Mrs. Eva Haughn - Property; and Mrs. Farrow - Mgnse Committee. It was announced that the Martha Logan Cooking School will be held in the High School Auditorium on April 28. Proceeds from this event will go to the Ladies' organiz- , : 5 ; f ations of the Churches of Schreiber and Mgs. Ray Belliveau is also a patient in the Terrace Bay, and is sponsored by Costas.
