He noted the erecting of a walk and lookout on the rocks behind the Recreation Centre was within the scope of the allottment, had a lot of potential and as a long range program could be increased as convenient. The entry deadline has been extended to August 5th 1965. Council agreed to hold a special meeting to establish a project before having the. Cen- tennial Chairman, Councillor Cavanaugh seek the assistance of Mr. J.W.Reid, Centennial fiéld representative. Councillor Cavanaugh brought to the atten- tion of Councillor Brown, difficulties encoun- tered during a recent snowstorm, and recom- mended improvements on snow removal. At the request of Councillor Brown Secretary Strutt read the Parking By-Law and Highways Traffic Act for the clarification of local snow removal] removal problems. Councillor Brown enquired into the appoint- ments made by Council to the High School Board and was informed one appointtee was at the re- commendation of the Public School Board, one from the Separate School Board and the third by Council. A suggestion had been forwarded ta increase the Board to five members and upon the recommendation of the Reeve, Councillor Brown would do some research on the subject before the next meeting of Council. Reeve Adamo was informed the Principal could not serve on such a Board. As Chairman of Health and Welfare, Councillor Brown was conferring NE Pare 9 with the Medical Officer of Health and School Nurse to arrange a suitable schedule for the School Nurse. Under the present program, no use was being made of the audiometer. Councillor Thompson reported with the co- operation of Councillors Kolody and Brown a meeting had been arranged to improve the scope of the Snack Bar. Yours were being changed and many changes would be evident to Council in the Smoke Shop. He further reported on the progress of selecting a new Recreation Direc- tor and hoped to have the vacancy filled by April lst. On His suggestion, a special meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, March 2nd, to review the Employees Benefit Plan and approve Budgets. When the new flags arrive, Councillor Cavanaugh felt a flag raising ceremony would '|be in order, particularly to impress the school children. The Reeve reported he had made tentative plans for such an occasion and appointed Councillor Cavanaugh to this committee. Councillor Kolody recalled copies of the original annual Fire Report from Councillors and stated he had been informed by the Fire 4Chief copies to the Fire Marshall's office, the Canadian Underwriters Association and the Ontario Fire Chief had not gone out.
