Mr.Caccamo thanked Jack Handel, Leon Cote and Neil Ross for their assistance in arranging for the spiel and Mrs. Bill Paradis, president of the Ladies Auxiliary, who had supplied the bonspiel dinner and augmented the prize fund. Fred McColeman at the piano provided music for dancing. David Gunter, Legion president, thanked the six- teen rinks who entered the 'spiel for their enthusiasm and the many fans for their vociferous support, all of which made this year's event the best since it has been organized. Mrs.Ted Wilson is in Terrace Bay Hospital . NEWS Mrs. Sanford Chicoine was in Fort William to at- tend a conference sponsored by the Canadian Tourist Association, featuring project hospitality. Another meeting is planned for April. Bill Scott, Bruce Gordon and Neil Whent were home from University in Winnipeg for the weekend. Miss Lynn Jorgenson accompanied Neil. Mr.and Mrs.Walter Murphy have returned from Duncan, B.C., where they were visiting Mr.and Mrs. Brian Stewart. Mrs.Murphy will go this week to visit another daughter in Regina. Walter Wilkes has returned from Toronto where he sees at least one NHL game a season, always when Gordie Howe is playing. SCH REIBER PIONEER STRICKEN SUNDAY e death of Benjamin, George, Henry May, born in London, England on November I5th, 1883, occurred in Terrace Bay on Sunday, February 2lst. Mr. May came to Canada when he was ten years old. He worked in and around the Lindsay district of Southern Ontario, later moving to Fort William where he was employed by the Pigeon River Lumber Company. During 1906 he moved to Schreiber where he was employed as a locomotive fireman and engineer until his retirement in November, 1948. In 1957 he married May Ellen Knott in Windsor. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth of Terrace Bay and Douglas of Schreiber, a daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Henry Pinion) of Schreiber and eight grand- children. He was predeceased by a son in 1933 and by his wife in October 1957. He was a fifty-six year member of Schreiber 1.0.O0.F. and of Superior Encampment Lodge No.78, Port Arthur. The funeral will take place in St.Andrews United Church on Wednesday afternoon. Miss Heather Graham was recently given a surprise party in her new apartment and presented with an electric frying pan by friends. Mrs.P.T «Sawyer and Miss Elsie Sawyer were en- tertained by friends and presented with handRags by Mrs.E.Swanson and Mrs.J.B.Ridsdale before they left for a new home in London, Ontario. Mrs.Stanley Kusik has returned home after spend- ing some time in McKellar Hospital. Mrs.C.Perras is a patient in McKellar Hospital, Fort William Doug Fisher chats after Schreiber meeting.
