CHARTER DRAPED AT REBEKAH MEETING Ruby Rebekah Lodge *279 held their regular meeting with Mrs.Jessie McCanna, N.G., and Mrs. Mary Husband, G.V., presiding. The Charter was draped in memory of Mrs.Christine Edwards, Past President of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario. A donation was made to the World Eye Bank and Visual Research Foundation. Mrs. Husband reported for the sick and visiting committee. Several visits were made to members ill at home and in hospital . The Past Noble Grands will hold a social evening on Wednesday, February 10, following the meeting which will start at 7.45 that night. Mrs. R.G. Macadam will convene the lunch. The Servers of St.John's attended two Servers meeting of the Deanery during the year, the first ~ at Nipigon in the Spring and the second at Wawa in the Fall. A Laymen's meeting at St.Thomas Church, Fort William was attended by a group of men from the parish. Two memorials were dedicated at the Christmas Eve Service, the first a companion Hymn Board to the one given a year ago in memory of Ethel Corbett by her father and mother, the sec- ond a sterling silver chalice and paten in memory of Mary and Thomas Arnot and given by their chil dren. Mrs.Jack Corbett and Mrs.Robert Winters received life memberships in the Anglican Women's Auxiliary in June. In closing Rev.Inshaw thanked members for their continued interest and service. Much of their time is spent in Bible Study, Mission Study, community projects and craftwork. The Exptorer group, under the direction of Mrs.R. Gander, Mrs.C.Pike and Mrs.F .Fummerton are a very enthusiastic and energetic group, their studies cover- ing personal hygiene, Bible Study, Nature Study, Mission Study and in June they concluded their year with a dessert tea. The also assist in the community Unicef collection. The Tyro boys, directed by Rev.Muldrew and B. Drake, hold weekly meetings which include Mission study, Worship, Personal development, religious topics and special events. The Messengers are led by Mrs.G. Gordon, Mrs.R.Macadam, Mrs.D.Hencher and Mrs.H.Frommann and meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month this year. Regular Worship and Mission study is conducted, this term on Brazil and Trinidad. Games and handicraft follow the meeting. They presented a concert last Easter and sold Mother! s Day flowers. The Cradle Roll is supervised by Mrs.W. Goat and all babies of the congregation are enrolled. Reports o the Presbytery Board of Men and the Board of Stewards were also pre sented and: reviewed. A plan for Visita- tion Evangelism is being directed by the Board of Session. . On February 7, Dr.Stan McLeod of Wesley United Church, Fort William, will be present to lead the members in preparation for this. All members and adherents are invited to attend this gathering. A silver chalice was presented to the Church and dedicated in memory of the late Norman Fummerton, by members of the Fummerton families. A Bible, presented by the Mid-week groups was also dedicated. A memorial service in December was in memory of the late Rev.R.A.Crook who passed away in August at Brandon, Man.
