roge 5 ... LADIES AUXILIARY CUT OUT APRONS President Mrs. L. Williams chaired the meeting Monday of the afternoon branch of the Ladies Auxiliary held in the Terrace Bay Community Church welcoming the large turnout | and many new members. The opening hymn was accompanied at the piano by Mrs. H. Roberts and the President led the worship service. Mrs. Ri Harris took the minutes in the absence of \the Secretary. The ladies decided to order dasti-Notes, engraved with a picture of the Church, which they will sell at the Christmas Bazaar. Mrs. J. Ferrier spoke about plans for Christmas TB seals and asked for volunteers among the ladies. Children's Aid Society member in Terrace Bay, Mrs. W. Anderson, asked for furniture for a destitute district family. The ladies cut out aprons for the Bazaar during their work period for distribution among members for finishing at home. Con- cluding the afternoon, Mrs. R. Ostling and Mrs. J. Brooks served tea, CATHOLIC GIRLS PLAN BAZAAR The Catholic Girls'* Club held their first fall meeting on Sunday, September 15th in St. Martin's Parish Hall. President, Cathy Cav- anaugh, welcomed all,including several new members, The Secretary'ts report was adopted as read by Betty Lou Cavanaugh, Margaret Ann Pineault, Ways and Means Con- venor, spoke about the Club's part in the annual Parish Bazaar to be held October 12th. This would consist of a Penny Sale and sale of stuffed animals. The members were each' asked to donate fudge as well. Membership Convenor urged all memberships be paid up THE NEWS j afterwards. September 19, 1963 The President asked the girls to consider the forthcoming elections to be held at the next meetings, Very Rev. Dean Gallagher read an article from the Hi Time mazagine which was discussed The Spiritual Convenor, Paulette Boudreau told the group that Uctober 5th was to be Children's Day in honor of Uur Lady of Fatima and explained the procedure of the ceremony to held with it. The meeting was adjourned and lunch served by the Ways and Means Committee, followed by a social hour. BILLETS NEEDED Terrace Bay Teen Town are to be hosts for a Teen Town Festival on October 18th, 19th and 20th. It is expected there will be 100 teenagers from outside points. Our own Teen Town can supply billets for some of these but we need help from other residents. If you are not contacted by Sunday, Sept. 22nd, and you are willing to take one or more guests, please phone Kit Knauff at 3362. GUIDERS CLUB MEET The September meeting of the Guiders Club, which was held at the home of Mrs. T. Turner, opened with the reading of the minutes, adop- ted by Mrs. P. Valiquette and seconded by Mrs. R. Thorpe. Mrs. G. Sitch was elected Chairman and Mrs. D. Desrosiers, Secretary.
