Hogg of Fort William are at the Moore camp at the Lake. Mr. and Mrs. G. Moore have gone to spend the winter in London, Ontario. Capt. A. Nelson, Mrs. Nelson and family are visiting Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Nelson enroute from Pettawawa to Edmonton. Mr. and Mrs. H. Livingston have returned from a vacation spent in New York city. Mrs. J.D. McCoshen is the guest of her daughter Mrs. H. O'Brien. Mr. W. Inman of Fort William visited his daughter Mrs. B. Stefurak and her family last week. Rodney Bryson R.C.N. is home from Halifax on leave. He was chosen to be one of The Sunset © Guards, a precision drill used at the Lunenberg Festival, N.S. Alex McKay and Mrs Cantin o O Nilli spent the weekend at the camp at the Lake. Students return to their various places for the coming year:-- B. Gordon, N. Whent, P. Huminicki, H. Shack, A. Holmes and J. Sheehan will return to Manitoba University; Lois and John Inshaw to Toronto University; B. Kirkpatrick to Queen's University; J. Cosgrove to Waterloo University; |. Cocks to Laurentian University. Sudbury; S. Kragero to Lakehead Teachers' College; S. Johnson to General Hospital School of Nursing, Port Arthur; L.:McLellan to Port Arthur Vocational School; B. Lidkea and Sharon Webb to Lakehead Business College; D. Sparkes to Port Arthur; R. Cote and P. Chicoine to Ottawa University. Of special interest is the 5 year course being taken by Dale Sparkes, opening a further field of education for students not concerned with university training. This was found through the High News, a magazine for high school students, and offers a combined apprenticeship and academic course under the auspices of trade and labor. Dale will be able to take part at least, of his apprenticeship in steam- fitting at the Lakehead. Dale was released from the Army to return to school by his own wish, and although he had only a month's studies before Christmas, got his year.
