Page 12 SCHREIBER -- TERRACE BAY NURSES MEET On Thursday evening in St. Martin's Parish Hall, the Schreiber - Terrace Bay Nurses held their monthly meeting. Nurses were greeted by M. Hale - representative. The meeting was conducted by Mrs. P. MacParland - president of the N.S.N.A; minutes being read by Mrs. I. Furlonger in the absence of Rena MacAdam sec'ty. Business and financial matters were discussed and passed. , The fall meeting - date to be decided later - was to commence with a refresher course in First Aid with Mrs. V. Rapke in charge. All nurses interested were to keep this in mind, Mrs. L. Hopper gave her report on the Dryden conference, A lively discussion followed with many questions asked concerning the future of nurses in various phases of their profession in regard to education, government ruling, status of the R.N.A.0. etc. Mrs. P. MacParland voiced the nurses* thanks to Mrs. Hopper for her detailed report. Lunch was served by Mrs. A, Chepelsky and A, Churney with the adjournment of the meeting. MR. & MRS. BRUCE REID HONOURED A group of friends gathered at Riddell's Camp on Sand Lake recently to honour Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Reid who leave Terrace Bay in July to make their home in Kapuskasing. The honored couple were recipients of golf cart and chaisitte lawn chair, the gift of the group. Attending the party were Mr. & Mrs. H. Gellert, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Caccamo, Mr. & Mrs. R. Sisson, Mr. & Mrs. A. Bourguignon, Mr. & Mrs. E. Macada Mr. & Mrs. N. Glad, Mr. & Mrs. J. Anderson, Mr. & Mrs. G. Caccamo, Mr. & Mrs. D. Weberg, Mr. & Mrs. Herb Gellert and Allan Burke all of Sch- reiber and Mr, & Mrs. Morrow Riddell and Al Korkola of Marathon. RUBY REBEKAH LODGE MEETING June [2th was Past Grand Night at the Ruby Rebekah Lodge meeting with PNG's opening and closing the Lodge. Sister Ann Akre, of Gate City Lodge #105, Supe- rior, Wisc. was welcomed as a visitor. Mrs, B. Whent, reported for the CP&T committee that one case had been given assistance and another was being investigated. Plans for transportation and other items were made for the IOOF and Rebekah Church parade to the Terrace Bay Community Church on June 16th. It was agreed to again furnish a hot meal for the student going by bus to the United Nations, which will be in July. A donation was made to the Canadian Bible Society. Following the meeting a social hour was. arranged by the PNG's with bingo, penny auction and a buf= fet lunch. The Local Association to Guides and Brownies will hold their regular meeting Monday evening June 24th, 8.30 in the home of Mrs. Marg Phillips. Mrs. Shirley Mikus, District Commissioner has announced the recent warranting of Mrs. Phyllis Turner as Brown Owl of the Third Terrace Bay Brownie Pack. Upon the resignation of Mrs. Vivian Hanna as Brown Owl, Mrs. Rosemary Thorpe was warranted as Brown Owl of Pack One. Janice Coe returned home from Havergal College in Toronto last weekend and will spend the summer with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. H. Coe. Marjorie and Glen Baillie with their four sons, Billy, Bobby, Norman and Larry of Scarboro are spending their vacation visiting his parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. Baillie. Billy and Bobby will remain with their grandparents for the summer. John Anderson is back from Queen's University and will work for the summer in Terrace Bay. John is the son of Rev. and Mrs. J.R. Anderson, formerly of the Community Church. Susan McCausland, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. McCausland is home on vacation from the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where she is in training. Marilyn Marsh is home from second term at Alma College, St. Thomas, and will spend the summer visiting her parents, Mr. & Mrs. H. Marsh. Mrs. Olive Champion is visiting her sister, Rosemar Thorpe and Mother and relatives in Schreiber prior to leaving to make her home in Burnaby, B.C. Mr. Charles Wedley of Winnipeg fs visiting with his daughter Gertrude Cotton and family. Mrs. Fred Story has left for a visit with friends and old neighbours in Beamsville, Ontario before visiting with her daughter in Warren, Ohio. Miss Ruth Livingston of Paisley, Scotland is visiting this month with her neice, Mrs. G. Martin and family, enroute home from a two month vacation in San Francisco. Mr, and Mrs. C. Schwalm of Lefroy, Ont. are spending six weeks with their daughter and son-in- law, Marnie and Bob Hofland. Eugene Adamo is home for the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Adamo. Eugene has com- pleted his second year in Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Ed Linkewlch is home from Albert College fx Belleville and will spend the summer with his parents Mr. and Mrs, N.
