It shows that $5,636.50 was distributed by KC-ECF to worthy charities during the year. This is an increase of more than $600. over 1960's total; the result of new members signing up and of old members increasing their contributions.s. RULES : 1. Children must attend the party for their age group ONLY, and according to their age on September lst. 2 NOTES MAY NOT BE EXCHANGED FOR GIFTS. : Children must receive their gifts in person. IF THEY ARE TOO SICK TO ATTEND, parents may send a note, but the gift will be held at the Recreation Office for collection, after all notes have been checked. THE NOTE MUST STATE THE NAME AND AGE OF THE CHILD. 3. Out of a possible 749 eligible, 63.42% or 475 voters exercised their right. Des -- Evans-Smith headed the poll with 364 votes, Angus Fraser tallied 279, J. Wellings got 237 votes and a 235 tie between M, Campbell and A. Valiquette was broken on the flip of a coin resulting in Township Secretary Treasurer F.W, Strutt casting the deciding vote in favour of A. Valiquette, Elected by acclamation J. Heenan will act as Reeve on the above named Council, a ie cry DID YOU LOSE YOUR VOTE? Did you lose your vote by spoiling your ballot? Twenty-three persons lost their vote on Monday in Terrace Vay because they did not mark their ballot properly. The following reasons make a ballot in- eligible to be counted: 1. Using any mark other than a simple cross wholly within the space provided. 2. Making a cross on the wrong side of the candidate's name, The correct side is the right hand side. 3, Using your own pencil, 4, Encircling the candidate's name, 5. Making any mark on the ballot other than a simple cross with the pencil provided, . The reason for these rules is so that no ballot may be identified. Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce 1 renee = CHAMBER SPONSORS PRE-ELECTION MEETING A good representation of interested citiz- ens attended the pre-election meeting held in the High School Auditorium last Thursday night. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. C.E. raget, Chairman, presided at the meeting. In his opening remarks he paid tribute to those who worked during the past year as Reeve and Councillors, The retiring Reeve, JA. Ferrier, said that "he could hardly realize it has been 4 1/2 years since he became connected with Municipal Affairs in the Town" Commenting on his retirement he stated that he does not favour static government and felt that change was good. He offered to still serve on any © He thanked his wife for her help and cooperation during his term in office, the councillors he served with and Kimberly-Clark Co, Ltd. for the free way in which they gave him time to do municipal work. He concluded by wish- ing Happiness and Joy to everyone in the Community. Newly elected Reeve J.
