Page 12 . _ TERRACE BAY SUPERIORS MAKE GOOD SHOWING SUNDAY AFTERNOON Terrace Day Superiors met the best that the North Shore could offer Sunday afternoon and held their own to a 7-7 tie. Ina game that had everything a spectator could wish to see, there was hard checking, fast skating, excellent goal tending and plenty of tense and near hits around nets. Superiors faced a packed team made up of six from Mercuries best, six from the much vaunted Royals and three from Nipigon's Flyers and they held through the sixty minute not to mention that in the third period it was Superior all the way. The Mercury contribution gave the Sups the biggest trouble and that mostly from the defensive action of Kapitan and Amadeo. Amadeo accounted for two, Lanteigne one, Willmen, Gallant and Morgan were hard to stop in scuffles around the net, they have a way of sniping the puck from nowhere and putting it where it counts. Legace shouldn't be too popular to the Superior fans, it was that wiley little skater that got in the only score for the All Stars in the third period and he had to outsmart Superiors defence and Dobson to do it, Adamo, Maurice Osmar with 'two goals apiece were the toppers for Superiors with Marvin, Dave Whalen and Pollard getting the rest. Pollard's 17:40 shot in the third came after Superiors had hailed puck at DeLucca from side, front. up and over without ; results. Tookenay played his best game this season and with Adamo and Massero should make that line one of the biggest scoring threats in the league, Bill FPytick turned in a good games. .He has shown good defensive |, material, no slouch as a goal tender and now he is coming up as a puck handler and play- | maker of no, ill repute. The Osmars and: Whalen are still the big line but so far | are not clicking as well as they should. It-leoks too that there is a-power house in the making that is going to be awfully hard to stop. Thursday night Marathon Mercuries will... face the Superiors in the first of 'the North Shore Schedule, -~ it will be interesting. SHUFFLE THAT FIRST STEP - No part of the bowler's approach to the foul line should be hurried. However, it is perhaps more import ant that the first step be more deliberate than the succeeding steps. Some successful bowlers do not lift their foot off the floor as they start their action. They just slide it toward the pins, then pick up speed as they get farther into the approach, However you like to do it, make that first The only riches you will carry to Heaven are those you give away.
