John Hennessy, 0.M.I., of Vancouver, BeC., was held in St.Martin's Church, Terrace Bay, In his opening sermon, Father Hennessy, ; who has been preaching Cana Mission for several years, explained that the purpose of a Cana Mission was to give to husbands and wives a better understanding of God!s plan for those in the married state, Each evening during the week Father Hennessy spoke on a different aspect of the marriage vocation, His sermon 'subjects included: God's Plan in Marriage, the Miracle of Cana, For Better or for Worse, Catholic and Protestant View -- Point on Mixed Marriages, God's Law in Marriage, the Christian Family, and Parents, Children and Marriages ; The Mission closed on Saturday evening, May 27th, with an impressive ceremony in which husbands and wives, with right. hands joined, made a renewal of their marriage vows, followed by the Papal Blessing and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, I cececaecnll cians eset ote | A_'THANK YOU' FROM THE BOY SCOUTS The 1st Terrace Bay Falcon Troop of Boy Scouts wish to thank all the people who helped in any way to make their June 3rd Bake Sale the success it was. A special thanks is given to Costa's Foodmaster for the use of their store, SUMMER PROGRAMME SURVEY We would like to remind everyone that the summer survey and registration forms should be returned to the school or the Recreation Centre Office immediately, in the event that GOSPEL MISSION C.Y.0,. -- meets lst and 3rd Sundays C.WeL, & C.G.C,. meet 2nd Sunday each month. Masses will be celebrated in the GUILD HALL during construction of the new Church EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH -- Rev, Davis 10,00 A.M. = Sunday School 7.00 P.M. - Evening Service Sunday - 11.00 A.M, - Family Bible Hour 7,00 P,M, - Gospel Service they have not already been returned, These are very important in our planning for the summer programme, so kindly co-operate. CHANGES IN HOSPITAL STAFF Several changes have occurred in the Staff at the Terrace Bay Private Hospital lately - some members leaving or already left and new members joining the Staff. In April Joan Weaver resigned and was presented with a set of Stacking Stools prior to her departure, Doris Morrill left in May to take a position in Fort Frances and re- ceived costume jewelry with the good wishes of the Staff, Janice Bond left at the end of May to live in Port Arthur where her husband Tim is stationed as a member of the Ontario: Pro- vincial Police, Dorleen Pastor also left at the end of May to be married and Dr, John Whiteside will be leaving at the end of June to live in Toronto where he will take a Post Graduate Course in Obstetrics. To bid farewell to the latter three and to Mrs, Whiteside, the Staff held a party at Cornell's Camp on May 24th, Dr, John was presented with a cordless Remington Razor; Mrs, Whiteside received an evening bag; Janice was the recipient of a waffle iron and Dorleen was given an electric coffee percolator, Registered nurses joining the Staff are Miss Vianna Risk of Nipigon (already here) and Miss Carol Quinn of Peterboro, who will arrive on June 15th, Mrs. Jean Carmichael of Schreiber has rejoined the Staff. Mrs. Margaret Laurenson has replaced Mrs. Dorleen Pastor. ROLLER SKATING Don't forget the weekly Thursday night roller skating sessions from 7 to 10 P.M. throughout the Summer, Enjoy an evening of relaxation and fun by taking part in these weekly sessions, It is good exercise for the whole family.
