There was a good representation of Nurses from Marathon, Schreiber and Terrace Bay present. The Terrace Bay group reported that the proceeds from the Bridge and Cribbage Party in July amounted to $141.95 which had been banked for the Retard- ed Childrens' School in Fort William. The Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic in August was re ported a success with 271 donors appearing at the Clinics Mrs. Suck was appointed Councillor to attend the R.N.A.0. meeting in Port Arthur in November. After the routine businces was finished, Dr. Whiteside addressed the group on the medical aspects of Alcoholism. at the conclusion of nis talk there followed a question and answer period which proved very interesting to all present. Following this a lunch was served by the Terrace Bay Nurses. The lst. Terrace. Bay, Guide Company resumed cheir regular meetings on Scptember 16th with seven girls enrolled by the Captain,Mrs. Lois Downey. The girls were Annette Belliveau, Beverley Dodge, Donna. Brown, Jill Crandlemire, sharon Timpano, Beverley. Women of the Moose Chapter 1426 held their regular meeting September 16th. Various business was discussed. The next mecting will be held on October 7th, when the lunch will be convened by Leona Mercure. Mrs. Jane Dobson was the guest of honour at a Stork Shower September 10th when Arlene and Liz Osmar were the hostesses at the home of the latter. The many lovely infant gifts were presented in a decorated box as the guest of honour sat in a decorated chair. A social evening was enjoyed luncheon served by the hostessese lirs.Russ Stevens entertained Sunday afternoon when eighteen little guests atteded the birth day celebrations of her daughter Joann. Mrse Daphne Bradley with son Rodney are visiting for two weeks in Ottawa, the guests of her sister Mrs. Jack Tenucci and family. Joseph Marcella left for Winnipeg last 'vedn~ esday to commence his second year at Ste Paul College. Paul Marcella left on Friday for Windsor to begin his third year at Assumption Universitye Gary and Wayne Newell will.leave on Thursday for North Battleford, Sask., where they will enroll at St. Thomas College. Cpl. Terry McInnes was visiting his Dad Ted McInnes and family while on embarkation leave Terry was sccompanied by his wife Twila, and Son Corby 'and left on Sunday for Montreal. Terry will sail for Germany on September 28t with his family to follow at a later date. Mir and Mrs. Walter Lundeen and daughter Beverley of Eagle River were weekend visitors at.the home of their daughter and son-in-law Bun and Bruce Larson. Town Topics continued on Page 6e
