Al is completing the big circle, in effect, returning home. He,was born and raised in Toronto. In 1940 he began working in LongLac, Ontario with the old Pulpwood Supply Company. In 1946 he went back to,Toronto for a year when arrangements were being made by Kimberly- Clark to start the Mill in Terrace Bay. In 1947 Al came to work in Terrace Bay as an accountant, He was promoted to Chief Account- ant and then Comptroller of the Company. Al McColl, like so many of the early resi- dents, was very active in community affairs. He was the charter Secretary-Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club (1948) and then second Club Pres- ident. He was a member of the Curling Club-- | St.Martin's Church and the local Council of | of the Knights of Columbus. | On March 17th, the local Kiwanis Club held an "Al McColl" night. . His fellow employees of Kimberly-Clark held:a stag for him on © March 11th and on March 7th a group held a farewell party for Al. and his wife Cecile. They will be missed by their many friends in Terrace Bay but, fortunately, will no) doubt make visits hare in the future.
