SUPERIORS LOSE LAST THREE GAMES Superiors had another tough luck week both in losing players through injury and in com- ing out second best in the last three games. Last Thursday Marathon edged them 4-3 in a gam that was close all the way through. It wasn't until the last minute and a half that Maurice Osmar drew an interference penalty and gave «: - the Mercs just the edge they needed,. The game could have swung the other way and, ex- cept for the fact that Superiors lost there was no complaint about the hockey played. Red Rock played here Saturday; this was the postponed game of last January. Again the Superiors didn't come through with the tie-breaker, Red Rock beat them to the punch at 18:54 of the third period to set the score 3-2 in their favour, Superiors withdrew Dob- son for the last minute, then the puck came out of a scrimmage in front of the Royals! net and slid into the unguarded Superior net, Superiors went up to Red Rock on Sunday short handed, four defense, six forwards and the net minder. Before the second period ended we had three defense and five forwards. Pytyck, stopping a breakthrough, slid. back- wards against the goal post. It looked serious for a while but the outcome is a sore back which will bench him for awhile. Cyr, turning at the boards, got the puck on the forehead, which sent him to the taylors but he should be okay for the next game. Anyway, Red Rock boast a 7~3 victory against Terrace. This Thursday, February 5th, Marathon will be here again and we hope, against a full, revenge seeking Superiors team. Sunday, Feb.8th, at 1.30 Nipigon will visit . this Arena, Superiors will journey to Marathon, Tuesday, February 10th. To Superiors,,Red Rock and Nipigon, the remaining game will determine the outcome of critical standings in the North Shore league, take your cue from that. The Hockey Association, on behalf. of the. girls selling the programmes, thank the spec- tators who are helping the.Superiors by pur chasing a program. Every program you hold increases your chance of winning the watch which you will see displayed in the meerea~ tion Centre, NOTICE TO.
