The inspection una¥oidably postponed on September 20th has now been officially announced as set for Saturday, October 4th at 7.30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Town Hall, The public are urged to attend this inspection and hear Mr. Fred Farwell of Fort William discuss the new manual on Civil Defense to be used in this area. Centre with ten members present. Downey, Secretary, read the minutes - Of the May meeting as the June meeting was cancelled due to a lack of sufficient members to form a quorum, Reports from other convenors were read with Mrs,Hilda Valiquette deciding on October 25th as our Annual Cookie Day. A member of the L.A. was requested to speak at a Kiwanis meeting on the activities of the Local Association in connection with the Guides & Brownies. A guide training session will be held in Marathon Oct. 6th & 7th. Seven Guiders are going & any L,A. member wishing to attend is asked to get in touch with Mrs.Dashkewytch & arrangements will be made. The highlight of the meeting was the lack of interest of mothers of children attending Brownies & Guides & the shortage of leaders, Mothers -- can you help us solve this problem? There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Meetings are held the fourth Monday of every month, Church Parade will be held on October 12th, Guides & Brownies of St.Martin!s Church will attend the 8.15 A.M. Mass & those of the Terr- ace Bay Community Church will attend the 11 o! clock service. CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE The Bake Sale Convenors wish to thank all thos who contributed to a very successful Bake Sale last Friday afternoon in St.Martin's Church Hal] Oug sympathy is extended to Sheila Zwaresh on the passing of her Father, Mr.Edward W, McAdam last Friday, September 26th in Schreiber, The funeral service was held on Monday. Lillian and Frank Sechesky are back from a vacation in Toronto & St. Catharines where they visited Mrs, Mildred Sechesky, Mrs.Jack O'Connor and Mrs. William Korcheski. Don Ollen-Bittle ha@ his Dad, Mr.W.A. Ollen- Bittle of Toronto visiting last weekend. Visitors at the Alex Marquis home last week- end included Mr. & Mrs. Joe Douglas of Heron Bay & Mrs. Harry Bentley of Cartier, Ontario. A belated birthday party was held for Linda Hales on Sept. 20th when five of her girlfriends joined her for an afternoon of games and party fun, a birthday cake & favors were served by Mother, Mrs. Helen Hales. Ivy & Al Pattison returned last week from their holidays in Minneapolis, Milwaukee & a visit with the George Cliffords in Neenah,Wisc, Mrs. Evelyn Partington entertained twelve chums of son Jordy's last Saturday afternoon to celebrate his fifth birthday.
