The Lukacs! have just returned from three years in Germany and are on their way to Edmonton after a brief stop-over in Terr- ace Bay where Mart renewed old friendships. Rolly Scowen returned on Saturday after visiting his parents and relatives in Quebec, He was accompanied by his son Dennis who, on their return, remained in Newmarket, Ontario where he is enrolled for his second year at Pickering College. ; Fran Herron and daughter Nancy arrived home last week from their summer vacation with her parents, Mr.& Mrs.Frank MacPhail and relatives in New Westminster and at their lodge on Vancouver Island, Mr. and Mrs.C.Solly~returned Sunday to their home in Three Rivers, Quebec after a two week visit with their son Howard and family here. Bunny and Bruce Larson and daughter Marilyn accompanied Bunny's parents Mr. and Mrs.Walter Lundeau and sister Beverley to Niagara Falls for a visit with another sister, Mrs. John Norman and family and with relatives in Ash- land, Wisconsin before returning home last week, Marg. and John Santerre with Wallis and Cliff Barker spent last week in Superior, Minn- eapolis and St.Cloud, Minnesota. Mrs.Arthur Roy and daughter of Bathurst, .B. have been guests of their daughter-in-law and son Elaine and Art Roy for.the past month, Helen and Bill Poulis and daughter: Andrea returned home to Toronto on Tuesday after a ten day visit with Helen's sister Ann Papousak and family. . CALVIN HARVEY PASSES ON SEPTEMBER 11TH On September lith, 1958, V.Calvin Harvey passed away in the Terrace Bay Private Hos- pital. Cal and his family have been residents in Terrace Bay for over ten years. He orig inally worked with Fraser-Brace Constructio Company in Terrace Bay, starting on March lst, 1948, and on October lst, 1948 commenc ed working with Kimberly-Clark as Pipefitte Foreman, AT the time of his death he was Shops Foreman, ' Cal was born in Ontario, but moved out West with his, family at an early age. He was one of the early paper mill mechanics, starting to work for Abitibi at Pine Falls, Manitoba in 1926 staying there until he cam to Terrace Bay. Cal spent a good many years in the paper industry, exemplifying the best traditions of men working in the industryin that the job came first; and he worked many long hours in the mills, Cal Harvey was not a well man for many years and those who knew him admired the indomitable spirit which kept him working while continuing to fight his illness to the . very end and we believe that was al- ways Cal's intention, He is susvived by his wife Effie Eliza- beth, daughters, Merle Christine, Helen Margaret and son Robert Brian. Deepest sympathy is extended to those relatives who mourn the loss of a beloved husband and father. On Saturday, September 13th a funeral service was conducted by Reverend A, Laven- der, D.D. in the Community Church, The Brethren of Terrace Bay Masonic Lodge con- ducted a Masonic service following the church service. Cal was a chartered Past Master of the Terrace Bay Lodge as well as a Past Master of the Pine Falls Lodge. On Saturday the family left for Earlwood Saskatchewan where Cal will be buried.
