Salary took an 11 to 1 lead at the end of two irrings but were unable to hold the opposition ucwm. A combination of Shift 2 hits and Salary errors proved to be the big factor in the Shifters scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the sixth, Neither pitcher looked too impressive as no less than 28 hits were made. The lst Terrace Bay Scout Camp was held from Aug.2nd to 9th at their Campsite on Whitesand Lake with twenty Scouts and three Leaders plus one bear attending, The leaders were Bill Megraw Skip, Grant Kelly, Quartermaster and John Shivas bear chaser. There were four patrols, Panthers, Fox, Lions and Buffalo, each with their own Campsite-- making their-own Alter fires for cooking and tables and benches, The Leaders took turns each meal eatingwith different patrols and by their comments thelxs are quite good chefs. A black.bear weighing around 300 lbs, decided to join the Scouts but it seemed his appetite plus the appetites of the Scouts was too much for the quartermaster and either the Scouts or the bear wouldhave to go, Since the bear hadnii paid his fees orhadn't been invested he was the logical one to:leave, So, on the,fourth night Bob Hofland from the Dept. of Lands and Forests arrived anddid away with the bear, The troop now has a bear skin and each member of Camp has a claw as a souvenir of hisvisit.
