"MOWGLI" Pack in October 1956 at the age of nine and by the following October had been awarded first and second stars and was also promoted to the rank of Sixer, By March of this year he was promoted to Senior Sixer, On Mey twenty-second he received his thirteenth badge which is the maximum -number available to wolf cubs, This achievement amounts to really hard work on Bill's part as he has been in cubs for only one and a half years, and is to be highly commended on his effort, Bill will be going up into the Scout troop this Fall and we wish him every success, Bill is the oldest son of Mr, and Mrs, J, Shivas, having moved here with his parents and two brothers in June 1956 from Toronto, Previous to that the Shivas family had spent three and a half years in Cuba, Around the Town (cont'd) From St, Martin's School, we have the Principal, Ray Kenney, who with his wife and family will spend July at their summer home in Rossport, before departing for Kingston to enroll in Queen's summer course, (cont'd next col,) "Minnesota, Bill, Mr, Kenney, Miss Smith and Mrs, Vezina will all return to teach at St, Martin's School in the Fall,' Lucille Dion has returned to her home in Fort William, with her parents, Mr, and Mrs, G, W, Dion, Richard Marcella will remain in Terrace Bay for the summer and plans to enroll at Teacher's College, London next Fall, Pat Hunt has left for Eganville to visit with her family, and in Toronto with relatives, Pat will teach in Port Colborne next Fall, The Public School Staff will have four of this, year's staff returning in the Fall3 Camilla Collins, Elvira Woods, Nora Peters, and Barry King, Camilla Collins will take a summer, course in Primary Methods at Fort William; Elvira Woods will vacation with her parents in Fort Frances, and Barry King will attend a summer course in London, Ontario, Marilyn Gordon and Ruth Chartrand both plan to take summer courses in Primary Methods at Hamilton, Ontario, after which Marilyn will teach at Acton, Ontario, and Ruth in Trafalgar, Ontario, Sylvia South is vacationing in Mexico prior to going west, Principal John Morrison will spend his summer in Terrace Bay and take up residence in Elliot Lake next Fall where he will teach in one of the new schools there, Another of the first families to settle in Terrace Bay has departed for a milder climate, Ann and Maurice Kulcheski with their children G&ry, Carol and Ronny left last weekend to make their home in Burnaby, British Columbia, Before they left,a Stag was held Friday evening for Maurice at which he received a movie camera and case, light bar and film, Marge Hamilton and Syl Duquette entertained for Ann at the home of the former, where many of Ann's neighbors and fellow curlers 'presented her with a travelling case and painting, Randy Hutchinson had:a gathering in honour of Gary and he was the recipient of a Boy Scout Compass, Carol rec- eived an Autograph Album from Pack 2, Brownies of which she had been a member, Norma and Len Crockford had a mixed party at their summer home for Ann and Maurice and at this they rec--- eived an electric kitchen clock, ice bucket and tongs, Students home for the summer are Dennis Scowen, from Pickering College, Pickering, Ont,, with his parents, Mr, and Mrs, Rolly Scowen, Judy and Susan McCausland from Bishop Strachan, in Toronto, to be guests of their parents, Dr, and Mrs, McCausland, (cont'd'on page 4)
