Olsen rink, by virtue of two consecutive wins over the Ostling foursome will represent Terrace Bay at Marathon on February lst in the cone playdowns. Last Saturday Olsen defeated Ostling in two very close games which saw some very fine curling ------ and if this standard of curling is maintained our Terrace bay rink should go on to win at Marathon. This one is hard to predict. Marathon is tough, especially on their own Licey x * SULEKIOKS LOSE TO MaiiATHON Marathon Mercuries iced ten of their players to challenge the league-leading Superiors at the Terrace Bay arena, Tuesdav night. after sixty minutes of offensive and defensive play the Mercuries downed Superiors five to two and put themselves North Shore Hockey League leaders by one point. ouperiors went ahead 1 - 0 in the first: -: period on a well executed play by Calder, Whalen and Osmar which proved to be the only well completed play Superiors made for the remainder of the same. LeBlanc for Marathon started Mercuries off at 0:33 of the second period and while the Superiors were skating in circles fumbling passes, Bolan, Henderson and Cox had each made a contribution to the Marathon total. Blom o" Terrace Bay made the lane counter for Superiors in the period.
