NEWS On Sunday, September 15th, the Catholic Women!s League held their annual Membership Tea in St. Martin's Church Hall, The head table was decorated with candlelabra and flowers, Standing in the centre was a statue of the Blessed Virgin entwined with tulle and flowers, Indivicual tables. were set around seating four. Each held a little vase of flowers. Mrs. Sheila Todd, Past President, introduced the new executive. Father Gallagher gave a wonderful talk on the meaning of the Catholic Women's League, and the good work they are doing throughout the country. Father Gallagher blessed the League pins, Mrs, Peggy Helmink had a roll call and each member was asked to stand as their name was called. Miss Edith Adamo accomoanied by Miss Susan Wig at the piano gave two beautiful vocal selections. Mr, Jack Anderson ran off two films taken during his recent trip to Mexico which proved very interesting, Mrs, Elva Rennett was the lucky winner of the door prize, a scarf and glove set donated by the Vogue Millinery, A lovely lunch was served to fifty- three ladies convened by Mrs. Joe Marcella and Mrs, Joe Kennedy and their committee, « oh een siete The regular monthly meeting of the C.W.L. was held Sept, 8th. Helmink opened the meeting-and Father Gallagher led the League prayer, The convenor"s réports were given as well as the convention report by Mrs, Helmink, Cards were played and luncheon served.
