Although the score of this game would indicate an easy victory, some very fine curling was displayed by the members. of both teams. Our zone is comprised of a representative from Terrece Bay, Marathon, and Schreiber. The winner of the zone playdowns then enters the Northwestern Play-offs being held in 'Port Arthur on Feb. llth and 12th. The Northwestern winner then journeys. to Toronto for the Provincial Playdowns which will be held at the Granite Club on aStlee FA 18th and 19th. We MEN'S CURLING CLUB NEWS Locel curling picked up momentum this 'last week and to say the least ell curlers participating in the local club bonspiel and Northwestern Curling heve had a full week of some very fine curl- ing. In the local club bonspiel the Leuis Duquette quartette took top honours by defeating the Ole Olsen rink in @ very . fine game played last Sundsy 2fternoon. On the same afternoon the Len' Crockfird rink defeated the Jim MacDonald rink to take top honours in the consolstion event, A social wes held Saturdsy evening in the curling club lounge in connection with this local bonspiel. In the local Northwest ern curling the Ole Olsen rink have cinched top honours by being undefeated in the double round robin thet was held to decide Terrace Bay's representative in the North Shore playdowns to be held at Nipigon in the near future. The rink composed of.Ole Olsen, Skip; Len Crock- ford, Vice-Skip; Red Wood, Second; and Howard Solly, Lead,should give a fine account of themselves when they go to Nipigon on Feb. 2. The local club members end the community at large wish them every success, Rune Ostling, one of our old' time 'members had the honour end distinction of representing Terrace Bay curlers in the series of matches Canadians are holding with the Scottish Curlers who are now tonring Canada.
